freebird
I've been working on mine, but not real sure I want to keep it the way I have it.Anyone else done this?Have any pics?I've been thinking of maybe welding on the front of the scoop with maybe something that looks like the 83 hood,if you know what i mean.I have some pics but im not done yet. http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy68/jaybirdskate/sp3_zpsbc9cdc14.jpg Edited March 29, 2014 by freebird
R-R-Quest
I like the concept and where you are going with this. However, imo they are too large. Meaning: they stick out too far. I would try it with about half that and maybe tapered towards the rear. Just my .
freebird
I have it about 1 1/4'' sticking out. So it grabs air. I can try less on the other side to see if it looks better. But I think if I keep it this size but maybe weld in a scoop inlet (83 hood type) It will seem smaller.Or even some mesh. tapper to the rear? Do you mean lean the back towards the front? or the opposite? Thanks for the reply!
scott87star
It's interesting, kind of gives it a mid or rear engine vibe (which will really confuse people).

Convette
Grabbing air that goes no where causes drag. Honestly I dont hate it, but taper them and make them follow the lines of the car. When you bend them, use a piece of pipe to get your radius, it will be much more uniform. Also make a template out of card board so you match the exact shape. patra_is_here
you already have a vent for the interior. its right there on a b pillar. I have like three sets of quarter windows. I will give them to you for free if you just promise to run windows instead of whatever you're doing there.
patra_is_here
that part of our car is already visually cluttered and you've just added to it with a bunch of new lines that don't make any sense.

viper1355
I'm curious what a sunken, clear panel would look like. I mean there would be no point to it whatsoever, but if I was bored and wanted to make stuff, that would be something I would try

I mean there would be no point to it whatsoever, but if I was bored and wanted to make stuff, that would be something I would try I once considered cutting the rear pillars off, doing away with the hatch (I just realy dont like it for some reason)Maybe ending up with a small trunk, and a rear window like a 64 corvette or maybe a split window 63......I just like the way the vett's rear window area looks. It would change this cars look so much in the rear.It would be nice to have some kind of material like that laying around. Melted door handle? Sorry to be off-topic. Its what I have left of my secound quest from years ago.It was too close to a blazing Fire.I can't seem to get rid of it for some reason. I do need a black door....lolI had to use the black one that was on the car for a better quest. I have put 3 doors on this side of the car. This one seems to stay...so i leave it....for now. mopar jon
I was wondering how it might work to make one into a UTE like the Aussies, or a kind of Mitsubishi version of a Subaru BRAT.

If you've got a high school nearby that has a CNC machine, you can likely get them to cut and bond whatever you want. Edit: HD also sells acrylic in clear, that would work too and probably bee cheaper. Edited June 10, 2014 by viper1355
