I personally don't have a set as of now, but have seen some nice lookin wheels out there. Black with the polished lip seems to be the most common. Also, red from Scottydont caught my eye. Maybe Gold.....who knows. This way in stead of wondering what your whip might look like, now you will know.

Just post up any picture you may have of things you've done to update your wheels. Maybe even include your process of how you did it to help out another member, and so we don't flood this thread with....how did you do that?

I used lacquer thinner and a piece of steel wool and got as much clear coat off of the centers as I could...then, sanded them with 400....

then, for the good part...

went to Wal-Mart, got about 5 cans of $0.97 colorplace gloss black, and coated the wheels, using all 5 cans over the wheels.

Finish is strong, and, after a little more than a year...shinier than the paint on the car :P

I also used Wal_mart red on my calipers...

I swear by the stuff...sticks to anything and lasts a long time...good deal for $0.97 if you ask me.

I'm fairly sure they are just painted, not powder coated. Quikconq did those, I just bought the car with them. Contact him for more info, or me for more pics :)

Gloss black powdercoating with a red stripe sticker, yes, a sticker. They are mostly meant for motorcycle rims.

Here are my mine on the flatty. Polished lip and gunmetal wheel paint. The lip is normally much cleaner but these pics were taken while at school so the rims were not super clean.

sandblasted and straightened and smoothed out the old curb rash and powder coated black chrome, but ended up looking like gloss gun metal gray.

Excellent post guys....I especialy like Stang3majiks write up, I also read it somewhere else. Because of that I think I might try out a gold similar to the scubys, on a white car. Haven't seen one yet.
