  1. If you do make a new seat skin let me know. Your shift boot was great. I wore a hole in the drivers seat left bolster and need to recover the seat. I would like to keep the car as close to stock as posible. Thanks in advance. Todd
  2. Interested in Helical gear. Highway driving not Highspeed. Let me know Todd
  3. 225ZR-50-16 Yokohama 032R on 8" rims up front, 245ZR-45-16 Yokohama 032R on 9" rims on the back. The tires are heat cycled and were purchased from TireRack. The rims are the stock rim with sport suspension. I also have a spare set of stock sport rims with Dunlap SP8000's for the street. I will be out of town until next week, talk to you later. Todd
  4. Sound like we have similar improvments. The 032R's have such a stiff sidewall that its hard to get it to roll over unless I really overdrive the car. The tire guy really cringes when I come in to mount new tires Todd
  5. Oh I absolutely agree that the mods make Auto-Xing a lot more fun. The car is an animal with Yokohama 032R's instead of street tires. I don't think I would have appreciated the improvements had I not spent the time to learn the car in a completly stock form first and then stated tweaking. I have raced an '87, '88, and an '89 sport. The sport is by far the best version to race. If you don't know how to figue out tire pressures the simplest way is to chalk the outside edge and adjust the pressure according to where you rub the chalk off. (more pressure if you are on the side wall and less if you are not on the edge of the tread) How agresively you drive will also make a difference, that is why I said to learn how to drive the car first. I use about 31 lbs in the front and 26 lbs. in the back. Start about five to 10 pounds higher and work down. Todd
  6. I have Auto-Xed for about 10 years. Don't worry about how to set up the car at first, just worry about learning to drive what you have. Most of the Mods list above will kill you in class or PACS index, just leave the car alone figue out the best tire pressure for your car and run that. Once you start to get a feel for the car then start changing things. For the record I have an '89 TSi with sport suspension, I raced that car unmodified for 8 years and was in the top three in class most of the time. The car was unbeaten in FS from 97-00. I had a 2nd place in 01 in GS. I spent 02 rebuilding the car and will race it again in August still in GS. Auto-Xings is not about how much you spend but about how good a driver you are. Todd
  7. Sorry about the delay in answering, been busy. I didn't rebuild them, I bought new ones. Yes they are really expensive. There was a thread here about rebuilding them, but I could never get an answer from the guy. I keep the old struts just in case. I think I have close to $2,800 into the whole job, but that included new brake discs and SS brake lines. I also powder coated the suspension parts red. The car looks so cool up in the air, to bad you can't see it when its on the ground. I have some pics but need someone to host them. I am going through the electrical and vacum systems now. The cosmetics will be next summer. It should be like new when I get done. Todd
  8. No, it just goes back to 1 and starts over. If you try and leave the dial between a setting it is the same as just setting them to 8. Good Luck Todd
  9. I set mine to 8 in the front and 6 in the back for auto-X or the road course and 1 or 2 on the street. Just rebuilt the whole suspension and it is stiff now. what use to be 8 is 3 now. Todd
  10. OK The Front struts are off of the car. What is the verdick, can the adjustable struts be rebuilt or not. Todd
  11. Does any one have a part number for the front sway bar bushing in poly or is there an off the shelf bushing that work. Todd
  12. Supra Quest; My car will be out of storage this weekend or next. Have you rebuilt a set of adjustable struts yet if so I should have a pair of rear ones for you to rebuild soon Todd
  13. Car is in storage until April (can't get at it where it is) will send them then Todd
  14. I have two brand new 8 way front struts in the box. They are not gas type and the piston is not restrained in any way. I think that was the mistake I was making when I was trying to find a new front pair. If you dig into the manual for the 88 and 89 you will find three types of struts; oil filled, gas filled, and dial type. Heron, was the strut that you rebuilt an oil filled or adjustable. I still need the back pair rebuilt and would like to keep them adjustable for Solo racing. Todd
  15. for our cars. I hear that they are better than polycarb and never need lubrication Todd
