I'm in for the T3 log. I'm going to bolt a HX35 to it. Can you PM me details?

Perhaps PM me with questions, I don't have any details that aren't laid out in this posting.  I'll be working on another batch of T-3 logs over the next week, so I should be restocked soon.

Great work! What's the id of the turbo mounting flange on the stock replacement?

2-1/4" or 57 mm.  The pipe transition that feeds into the flange is 2.157", or 55 mm.  pretty sure stock is 50 mm. It's a good amount bigger than stock, but not so much that you will have problems with the transition on a stock un-ported turbine housing.

On the prototype shown it was a mitsu flange for a different series of turbo, I don't use those flanges on the production model.

The design is way better than stock, not just flow wise.  Now i can actually verify torque on the nuts with a regular deep socket and torque wrench

Bit chin arse header man.
Chad makes the best stuff.
Great flowing and cost effective.
I run one of those same type design log headers and spool a hx35 pretty decently.
Very nice.

Chad, I'm looking to do this also and will PM when ready.

I have Chad's modified Magna intake in my garage and can attest to his skills!  I will definitely be getting a manifold from him.

Matt, will you need an internal or external wastegate?  I have a few that are almost done, some with and some without external wastegates.

Tube or pipe?  That one is 16ga 321 stainless, the material is pretty expensive.  I made one other years ago.

I'm working on a 316 pipe version of that same design right now, I'm about 2/3 the way done.  I made a template of Ivan's manifold so I could reproduce them.  The one I'm working on is divided t4 with dual WG's to keep it truly divided. I'll share a pic when I'm done with mockup.  Target price is under $1000, depends on how long they will take to fabricate.  That model in 321 tube is about $1300.  Material alone is over $800

I haven't sourced an HX35 yet, but I'm assuming I'll need an external wastegate version...

So the t3 log will sit low like the treadstone manifold?...

No, it sits about 5" higher.  The flange on the Treadstone is parallel to the downward facing head flange.  Mine is about 65* out of parallel, putting the turbo on on the top of the log, not the side of it.

Attached is a pic of a T3 log I took during prototyping, it's a decenlty largeT4 turbo just clamped to the flange for getting the geometry and clearances checked out.  If  T4 fits, any T3 will fit too.  This also shows where the wastegate ends up in relation to other parts/systems.  This ends up in a way better placement compared to the treadstone WG placement, which forces you to use adapters or a funky down pipe.

What would be a direct replacement for a stock 87 TSi? Keeping everything exactly the same with a straight swap.

Check out post 13 in this thread.  Doesn't have provisions for the heat shield, but I can add some studs for mounting the shield if you want to keep it.
