i was thinking about new head for the starion ..

and theres a old study out there that non jet valve heads have higher compression than the jet valve stock heads because of a bigger combustion chamber so the stock type heads spool turbos faster. just some deep thinking..idk...throwing it out there.

head flow is not the main restriction most think it is ,, the intake is the most major restriction you need to get over first .long before the head becomes a problem

This^

TBI, stock boost = normal SQ

MPI manifold, stock boost = burnout machine

what about people like that alex guy that ook a stock intake and added injectors to it.

seems like a nice way to create 400ish hp ?

Yes that's the old way to do it. Why stick with a restrictive intake??? Stubbornness? You can get more HP per PSI of boost with a MPI intake. It doesn't make sense to do MPI on the stock intake. You just handicap your build. For example, a stock SQ gets full boost from a 12a around 2800 RPM. Running the same 12a and the same stock boost but with a MPI setup and MPI intake you get full boost instantly. So quick that those who have done it say it's really hard not to do a burnout at every stoplight. That should tell you even a magna intake will outflow a stock TBI intake.

to add to this, i just switched from a stock mani with 4 injectors, to a EIP Canon, my Wh1c hits 15psi by 2800rpm

Another interesting thing to think about, The stock intake has almost twice the flow of the stock Throttle body. (the TB size is about the same size as one of the 2 runners that all the air go thought)

In that case imagine the hp you could add just by modifying the stock tb or adding a tb from something else to the stock intake mani.

Unfortunately its a bit more complicated then that, The stock TB is made to give a good and even flow of air and mix the fuel from the injectors, Oversizing the TB is good but your not really able to get that much larger. And using a new tb makes it hard to get the injector mixer on the tb and make the air flow as it should. I have been working on doing this but will have to wait till weather improves before I can finish the project. But really a big big problem with the stock setup is the ECU is quite poor. MPI is really the way to go.

yeah it just seems like if i wanted to make 500hp plus id turbo a 350 v8 or something.

close to 400ish hp would be sick in a starion that's all id really be shooting for out of a g54b.

with that mpi setup on a built motor you could do what kinda hp ?like 700hp + seems like your not even touching the mpi setups ability.

im just saying the mpi setup can flow more than the ability the motor has to put out .

id be very interested to see what you come up with on that project
