So I'm in the middle of rebuilding my car yet again for thelping upcoming season. Im debating on doing carbon fiber b pillar inserts (wide body) style. They would be direct bolt in part.  I need to see what it's going to cost to have them made.. but I wanted to get everyone's opinion on what a fair price would be for them. A limited run may be in the $400 range for finished parts..  Opinions?

It's just a picture of a screen shot, sorry for the poor quality.. will have some better pictures soon.  I got the parts ready to mold today, will be casting them tomorrow. I will be taking deposits as soon as I get the first parts out of the mold.

As far as the vent goes, I'm going to figure something out for that, as it's more complicated and expensive to make the stock piece work... so it can either be open or some sort of mesh piece..no cheap looking though. We'll figure that out later.

Not trying to be a downer, but what is the point?
If you are going to improve their function or create some race car function I don't know about, then you have my full support ( not that it matters.)
But in my opinion, if you are going to save 1lb of weight each, it seems like a lot of effort and cash for a small gain.

I may be wrong, but I thought these were cast aluminum to begin with.

Ugh.. I cant decide.  I may wrap the car after I prep it for paint, but I think its going to stay red

The only reason I'm doing it is basically... cause I can.  Yes they are aluminium, and will offer nothing really in terms of weight loss.  I'm doing it mroe from a design aspect. With the carbon roof, it will be a nice transition from the side to the roof.  I figured if others want them I can make a few sets at the same time.

Anyways, the molds will be done on monday, should have parts to show by the end of next week.  Stay tuned.
I will be taking deposits as soon as I have a part to show.

I understand now the idea to tie in the look from the roof. i think it will be awesome.

haha you know it man.

I know the white looks amazing...it was always the plan, however, the cars soul is red. It wouldn't be what it is if it were any other color.  I may do a different shade of red..but its def going to stay red.

SO update on this, the molds are done, they look amazing.  We should be looking at the first set end of this week/early next week.  Deposits will be taken when I get the parts done.
