I sold my Jeep on CL this past summer in two days, but yes, I paid a 5 dollar listing fee. Apparently it's only for motor vehicles, not general listings.

I like it. Here's why. People are spamming the cars for sale section constantly. Posting and reposting the same ad daily. The fee puts a stop to all that.

Nothing is better than craiglist for selling a vehicle. 5 bucks is nothing. I recently posted a car for sale on craigslist, paid the 5 dollars. Sold the car the next day. Could be coincidence. But i think that the fee helped get my ad more recognized.

5$ for only 30 days though?
I remember years ago I could list something and i would forget it was on there until someone called and asked about it.
I guess stupid people ruin all good stuff.
Everything will have to be funneled through FB nowadays I guess.

There is no comparison between facebook and craigslist for selling. Way more people use Craigslist. It's been around since 1995, since the first years of the internet.

That makes me feel better.
I just hope people still use craigslist. I do not want to get caught as the last person

It could be far worse.  Sell it on ebay then ebay takes 10% and paypal takes 3%.

Facebook marketplace, I don't even pay attention to it.

I remember looking at cars to buy on autotrader magazine at 7 eleven.  Craigslist is an awesome website. Pay the 5 bucks and support the site. ;)

love CL for buying/selling vehicles.  I've sold a truck, motorcycle, 2 SQ, and purchased many vehicles off it without problems.

I have sold 1 dirtbike + snowbike kit on Ebay and let me tell you, they get their fees !!

I forgot about the scammers.
Like to get past the wave of people or robots that just ask questions only to scam.
Is the car for sale still
Can you do a vin check then email me at this email
Can I pay with my cripto
I will sell your car for a fee

Stupid crap. It is no wonder some people would rather not deal with that.
I feel like I’m being funneled away from CL. Scammers to much to deal with.
Must go to FB....lol
Not really. But yea, I paid for it now I must enjoy it!

I'm wondering if CL is only charging for vehicle listings, and maybe only in certain regions? As others have said, it should help with the spam and maybe also cut down on the people who are testing the waters with high prices - they will likely end up posting more reasonable asking prices if they have to pay to list it.

I find that many of the cars I find on CL are also posted on FB marketplace, but not always. I think it's easier to post on marketplace, but CL is still widely used in my region.
