  1. -i dont know what shipping is gonna be on the hood yet... i know fed ex will take it, but i wont know shipping info till the 1st one goes out and i know how much ill have to brace the package and see what it ends up weighing out at.. im guessing that itll be about $175-200 for just the shipping...unless youre close to Minnesota.... ive got a great box for em, but ill need to build a pinewood frame and put foam on both sides so they wont get jacked up during transit... -my hoods will NOT have a factory latch point in front, so you will need 2 hood pins- they will mount up to rear hinges though...... ***ps- you should NEVER run a composite hood without hoodpins... ive seen too many idiots over the years use factory latches that have broken free and caused serious damage to windshield and A-pillar areas... its not safe for you, your car, or other drivers around you if/when it flies off.. so simply put... i wont give you the ability to be "that guy" -as for a GB price, itll go like this 1 $499 2-3 $469 4-6 $449 seems like those are the kinda numbers that work on custom parts... id like to shoot for end of the month to get things ready for a GB so if theres more interest that what i have listed i can price things out accordingly carbon fiber will be an additional 250/per order.. -josh
  2. nope... reverse cowl is the only one im doing.. see above pics.
  3. hey guys.. im starting a new topic to update everyone on current status of composite parts- for those who have followed the story on all the parts ive been working on, you know there have been some ups and downs during the process. my available free time for the parts schedule has severely cramped some timelines i was shooting for, and the hiccups of the actual tooling processes just keep putting me further and further behind on things. i cant apologize enough for all the patience... i thank everyone whos gotten one of my parts, and hope its helped make your car that much more special! drift style bumpers- -drift bumpers are still available. i currently have 1 bumper left over from original GB that ive been waiting on a buyer for, so if anyone is interested in getting one- i will let it go for $450 shipped for the first take... PM me if youre interested. -if we need another GB for these, let me know and we can get one going, otherwise they are 525 shipped on individual orders. extended spoilers- -currently still working on the molds. ive been limited to the time i can put into these, but they are making progress. the process of making the multiple sections for each part of the spoilers has been a pain. along with some difficulties on another part ive been making(which is finally getting close), these got way behind, but they are still happening and havent forgotten about ya guys! ... except for the 1 carbon fiber part on order already, i am only doing these in fiberglass in the future, and currently not taking any orders until the first ones get out... carbon fiber header panel/headlight covers- -these have been/are available anytime. 650 shipped for the set. group discount at 3 sets. **new for 09**- Reverse cowl hood- -this has been a project coming for a while now and the mold is finally ready. there have been a few sneak peaks, along with a very patient 1st buyer on this part and i can post a pic over the weekend of the finished prototype in grey... they will be available in fiberglass or carbon fiber. heres a couple pics... the top one is in finish primer, and the 2nd is from after the mold was popped off it, so its kinda hazy and still has all the wax and release solvents on it but you get the idea of the shape..basically youll be able to leave it closed up or cut it open as you wish... a finished part is nearing completion and youll be able to see pics of those once they get delivered.... http://lh4.ggpht.com/_SbkFITDNmxA/SkVTc2bPSdI/AAAAAAAABNs/EjjAKIOFUxw/s512/hood.jpg http://lh6.ggpht.com/_SbkFITDNmxA/SkrOJgV5TqI/AAAAAAAABSY/z9NRB5vV7IQ/s512/hood2.jpg please keep this post ON TOPIC!! if you arent interested in custom parts for your car, please dont respond in this thread... josh
  4. Josh, you were just on the forum. why no contact from you, what the deal?
  5. hmmm either the 68 camaro(350,4spd, 12bolt), or the 62 impala(350,th350 ss body)..... but i did have a 2gen celica sedan one winter that was super fun.. and cheep.. that car i miss cause i just beat it everyday with no problems... josh
  6. sorry bout that.. but ya guys got it!! thanks... im gonna be setting up a section on my website devoted to conquest parts and pics of stuff as im working on em so ill post up a link once my bro gets it going.. that way in the future itll be like going to a website and doing a parts order.. hope thatll make it easier next time!
  7. READ FIRST!!!! DO NOT POST IN THIS TOPIC UNLESS YOU ARE GETTING IN ON THESE.. thanks -After getting pretty swamped with pms and such with the last topic, and after talking with a couple members who really still want to get this going, this is gonna be kinda a final call for those that are interested in the extended going. -spoilers will be smooth, and led brake lights will be addressed on a per order basis. if you want led brake lights pm me and we will discuss the many options. -deposits are 250 for fiberglass, 450 for carbon fiber. total prices below fiberglass- 365 shipped carbon fiber- 650 shipped (including to hdam) **deposits in by 12-01-2008** pics are in link- the pics here are again of the mock up and the real deal will be VERY close.. http://picasaweb.google.com/worxcustoms/Co...csAndPrototypes GB LIST csdisme - carbon fiber zactek - fiberglass silverarrow89 - fiberglass josh
  8. -yeah the hatch was a bit out, and i have adjusted it, and had to also adjust the side pieces accordingly.. -as far as the shipping goes- that was a ballpark guess. after i looked into it more the 55 would have been too low with packaging materials, and i dont think that should need to come out of my pocket.. -as far as payments go, heres my .02: ive taken lots of orders over the past year on custom made parts.. each time ive offered a deposit, and that is basically only covering the cost of the mold materials(and barely at that). problem is ive had almost a 70% backout rate when parts are nearing completion stage, and when that happens, ive still given guys GB prices even though lots changed their mind and no longer am i dealing with a "group", but rather a handful.. this makes a huge difference on the price i get materials for, and if i pay more for materials, then i SHOULD be jacking up prices on the parts to relect the smaller number of people involved.. because if materials cost more, then i dont make anything on labor when i look at how much time i actually spend on the stuff is.. i dont think most members understand how much time and money actually goes into custom parts, and when people make commitments on custom parts, ive taken it in "good faith".. but when i start a GB with 15 and end up with 4... its actually costing me lots of money. at this point im not gonna keep dumping my money into parts just so everyone can get a smoking deal on parts for their cars while im paying for it.. its business.. if i loose money every time i do a GB for custom parts, then i makes no sense for me to keep doing it. im not trying to make a killing off these, but i think that if im doing the molds, and making the parts i should be compensated some for that- right? -this is a case of pay for it then i make it.. it hasnt worked doing it the other way. i honestly tried doing it a different way(multiple times), and it didnt work. ive said it before... i love SQs... and am willing to offer my skills and services so that YOU members can get some new parts on the market at what i think believe are very fair prices considering other companies havent/wont do stuff for our cars, or going to a local shop and having something custom made for yourself.. -ive called around the country and asked custom shops about their policies and rates... what ive found is min 10 orders. money up front for 1st one and mold. then 10 prepaid orders on following parts.. and what ive been told is 3-4k for 1st part and a mold, then each following will be done at shop labor rate plus materials at retail rates. most shops charge between 65-95/hr... so if a part takes 5 hours of mold prep, layup, trim, and finish plus materials youre looking at 450-700 pretty easy.. plus splitting the price of the 1st and mold with the group.. -id love someone to go to a custom shop and ask em what they would charge to build a 1 off 3piece glass spoiler.. just for comparison sake... anyone??? -i dont mean to come across as a d***, thats not my intention, so i do apologize for my tone. i do feel bad about coming across this way, as i do wish i could just pull molds of every part of the car and make custom parts and get em all done 100% finished and show everyone 1st.. its just realistic though.. josh
  9. yeah im around.. havent gotten any pms about em.. so im waiting on you guys.. -here are some changes with the GB.. these changes are to address some issues with GBs ive done before. this keeps everyone on a level field and no surprises or hiccups later. 1) molds will be made without provisions for led strips.. 2) if you want leds- get whatever led strip you want and i will make the provisions in your spoiler for the led strip you get for 25 bucks. 3) full payments only with shipping included. 4) no parts get started till all GBers are fully paid. fiberglass- 365 shipped carbon fiber- 650 shipped (including to hdam) need 6 to get em going. either or.. i will post members interested in this post IN THIS POST once you pm or post with a yes once 6 tell me yes and have names posted, i will collect payments, and start pulling mold from there. josh GB MEMBERS LIST: csdisme - carbon fiber zactek - fiberglass
  10. at least some one around there is doin somethin smart and productive!! its a better concept than most everything ive seen over the past few years from them!! (will you please tell someone over there to pull the plug on the volt - that thing is gonna make you need to work for hyundai!) josh ps- you wouldnt know if the new fugly camaro has a CB4 police interceptor package(stripped out v6 body, z28 brakes&susp, and vette hp) that will be available like the last ones do ya?? im still not sure that would totally convince me, but it might help.... everytime i see a new one i like em less and less and ive owned 2 68s over the years...
  11. -from the pics you posted- -headrests look kinda jacked, but overall the rest is ok. seams are off a little on the seat, and it could use a good steam it looks like to tighten up that slack in the seat backs, but overall pretty ok. -is that real leather or ultra leather?? -if you got em done for about a grand, you got a good deal and shouldnt even think about asking for free labor on rears... if you paid top dollar for em, and they told ya theyd be perfect, then you can go back in and politely demand they fix stuff and hook ya up on the rears.. my .02 josh
  12. -if you are wanting black stuff, get black interior from members selling stuff.. dont get that crap from the parts store to change interior color.. youll still want to pull everything out, clean every little part, prep it, and then paint it w/ hopes that it sticks... at that point youd be better off time and money wise to just put good used interior in -i start out around 10-12k for a complete interior.. that includes new everything.. dash, doors, seats, carpet, headliner, etc... covered in leather, suede, and wool carpet.. -for more affordable builds using vinyls, synthetic leathers and standard carpets youll still be lookin a good 3-5k for an interior... -if you get a quote under 2500 for a complete changeover id be scared of the corners getting cut.. both on labor and cheep materials that wont last a year.. -i gutted my car in about 3 hours total.. no harnesses, no carpet, hvac, dash, center, pedals, anything... you can totally change interiors with minimal tools and experience as long as you have a good service manual.. dont be scared of swapping out an interior.. it looks harder than it really is.. josh
  13. hey guys.. i havent gotten any deposits for the spoiler, so i havent been doing much with it. ive been working on the drift bumper and a few other projects instead.. if there is still interest going on here and a small group that can toss deposits, ill get going on em... looks like there are a handful that could get this going... if you are interested please post up and ill get a new list going.. josh ps- the black starion in pics isnt mine.. its a car i found from a japanese site that i liked... coulnt get any info on it though, so i dunno... im gonna be putting some 18x10, and 9 mustang bullitt style rims on as soon as its cold up here and need to switch my stang to snow tires.. i think that should look pretty close and the stang stuff is obviously avail in a variety of styles and offsets and lips etc...
