hello guys, my name is Stephen, I live in Geneva, Switzerland, the land of chocolate lol and I am the happy owner of a Starion, it is 1988 it has 101'000 km (62,758 miles)

It is light gray and I love it because after two days I had my first crash lol a ground fault and suddenly it would not start ... lol

I looked at your forum is very rewarding it There's very good how-to, especially for mounting suspension type D2.

In our country we can modify the car but it has to be recognized as legal and suspensions must show an "approval" in the form of a certificate and must be tested (not much, up to 4 in and see if the car is not too low.

And the only suspensions that the certificate is K-sport ... which is only the D2 rebadge lol.

In fact I'm looking for some parts that are quite difficult to find what are the rockets (I do not know the English name sorry I show a picture) to keep my original suspensions and to mount the k-sport on a different set but it is very hard to find just the rockets, if someone sells I can buy right now lol.

I'm sorry I have to go through google translation to communicate with you:)

For now it is original. I will post pictures:)

Wow nice car, sorry to hear that you are unable to modify it.

thanks ;-) but we can modify but the only thing where i'm a little bit afraid it's if the suspension (k-sport) are not recognize legal because we need to weld and they don't like it in the office of registration lol

Very nice car. If you arnt gonna be track raving the car or anything then why not just get a set of good strut and buy some lowering springs? Eibach makes lowering springs for our cars and they give it a nice stance, I'm sure you could use those.

the problem is I ordered the k-sport and that I receive between now and tomorrow and I'm gonna be track :-)

bilen är en skönhet. Välkommen till forumet är det bra att ha dig!

( your car is a beauty. welcome to the forum its good to have you! )

SP86 thanks you;-)

by the way what's the name of the parts i needed maybe i can serch in google, but i don't know the name of this

Tack för att dela, som för namnet på den delen är jag inte så säker. Fortfarande lära sig om dessa bilar mig själv och inte positivt på mycket. Men håll ut jag vet att någon har ett svar till dig. (:

( Thank you for sharing, as for the name of the part I'm not so sure. Still learning about these cars myself and not positive on much. But hang in there I know some one has an answer for you. )

Welcome to the site!!

Beautiful car... but tell us more about the smiling girl... LOL...

The part you are looking for is a "spindle and steering knuckle" to weld the ksport threaded tubes to. On the Starion suspension system, the spindle and steering knuckle are one piece, with a strut welded to it at the factory.

Image shown here is illustrating a design which has separate parts.

http://z.about.com/d/autorepair/1/0/f/Y/42118606.gif

I hope this helps you out. You might try a post in the wanted section, I am in serious doubt that you will find one at a parts supplier. The part you need is widebody (86-90) specific because of the strut angle, compared to the flatbody (82-87) strut angle.

  • 3 weeks later...

hi guys good news and more:) Thanks to the help of a forum member who is in Texas, so I could find parts for a second set of rockets to keep my original suspensions :)

So starting tomorrow I bring the suspension to a friend who has a Starion and has been the installation of suspensions for his.

I also ordered on the site topend, bosh pump 255L / h, a tube with the abolition of pre-cat and a catalyst sport and I miss him more than the joints to install everything.

As soon as I hear I share with you live;-) and thank you again for your message.

About the smiling girl lol, she's my girlfriend lol

Nice car, and although buying from the US will be cheaper than buying in Switzerland, I recommend against Topend because they charge too much money for some parts. Also, if the Bosch pump is made in Germany, why not just drive over to the factory and pick one up? haha!

hi guys thank you for your comment it's nice;-)

I have a question, I am about to install my suspension and I have ordered from topend removing pre-cat and downpipe with sport catalytic. The whole is 2.5 inches I think.

My mechanic who also has a Starion, said it is not 100% bolt on because the catback is 2 inches. Is the catasport do not would set the catback ?

Jag tänkte på att ta min far på en fiskeresa till Päijänne i Finland nästa sommar. Vi måste koppla in och ta en tur fram till dess glada del.

The only problem is he is in Switzerland not Sweden

So you would need to use German or French or maybe Italian.

Think 800 miles south between France, Germany, Austria and Italy.

But you never know he might know Swedish

ENGLISH

Right on. It is a very nice ride you have there my friend. Welcome to the forum. The pictures of vineyards in the background, that's where you live? That's something, um, very nice scenery. I was thinking of taking my father on a fishing trip to Päijänne in Finland next summer. We need to plug in and take a trip up to the happy part.
