leigh
i am in the process of putting an 8.8 underneath my conquest and have misplaced my notes on the factory axle width and no longer have one to measure. Can some one measure the wheel mount surface to wheel mount surface distance on a factory rear end with suspension loaded for me? Mine is an 87 tsi, with LSD if that makes a difference. IntercooledFlatty
may i assume you are going to back half it ?
leigh
Yes, thats already in progress. I just need that dimension so i know what to shorten my axle to.
slowquest
Unless your running stock rims, I'd just use the backspace measurement of the rims you are using and the body width at the wheel opening to figure out the optimum width of the axle, not just go back to stock. leigh
Only reason im looking for stock width is the wheels im using fit perfectly on the stock rear.
slowquest
gotcha, let me see what I can figure out when I get home. I've got a rear subrame assy sitting in the garage, should be fairly easy to measure
