I agree with this and would be willing to help create a thread about this. I think the best way is to get a group of people to cooperate on a few different "modification maps" like scottyP said.

I nominate myself and emagdnim, and maybe some other people who have done several different setups. We'd need to discuss steps and proper procedure.

I am up for it, anyone else?

the way I envision it is as a staged setup, like stage one routine maintenance and repair plus free mods, then say stage 2, upgrades to TBI fuel system and the third stage moving into MPI. I think this along with a links page for vendors would eliminate a lot of repeat questions, especially if the were posted on the home page.

I would find something like that absolutely wonderful!

I find my head spinning when I come here and see all the different mods and all the damn acronyms you guys use. I have caught on to a few, but my lord it is brutal. :) If I had any idea what it actually took to just upgrade my intake system and had an all in one thing to get, I would just do it. But I come here and look and read and then look and read some more because I just don't know where to start. So I sit here doing nothing because I am not sure or comfortable. Granted I am the type of person that just wants to get all he needs at once and just do it.

Some could just be subject matter with the alternatives as they are probably not going to lead into or limit other upgrades like: Suspension - Good option (est cost), Better option (est cost), Best option (est cost).

Others would be more of a tree that would be the bases for other upgrades like: Intake---> Modified Airbox, ECU, MAS, MAF Translator, Hard pipes, Intercooler, Turbo. Estimated cost for these things.

Engine build - if a engine is going to a machine shop, what SHOULD be done to it and what would be good to have done? Estimated improvement and cost for these things.

I guess what it would come down to is if I gave you my stock car and said call me when it is running 350+HP; From the beginning, what would you do to it? 450HP, then what?
