hvac blower motor wont work in low setting
fernando65 replied to fernando65's topic in Virtual Mechanic
thanks, yeah hmm. im sure mine is shot. i wonder if i can just stick another sort of resistor in its place. id like to just get rid of that whole climate control crap. id rather just have the knobs! -
thanks! they recently opened a harbor freight near me, ill have to check it out.. more importantly i have to find a level place for me do try this!
-
thanks!! yes they do stop wherever they want.. in addition to being offset from where they should be.. it is very tricky to get them to stop at the bottom of their stroke
-
this is an awesome thread, im so happy i found it! my wheels are naaaasty
-
yeah i figured i could do that. but seeing as how theyre both off by the same amount, maybe i can adjust both at once... but youre right, it may be easiest to do what you said

my wipers seem to be off a tooth or two.. they dont sit low enough when at rest.. and when theyre on, they over extend- the drivers side one actually goes past the edge of the window a little. how can i fix this? im guessing i have to remove the big black plastic trim peices at the base of the wipers, find the wiper motor, remove the splined attachment point to it, move wipers down, re attach, test. right!? thanks!

i replaced the stock head lights with those crystal clear glass lens type so that i can stick regular h4 bulbs in there. everything went well except for that i had to mess with the allignment screws to get the lights out. anyone know the proper procedure for re-alligning the light beams? i think i set them too low. thanks
-
im sure theres a fuse or relay thats blown somewhere, havent dug into it yet. anyone have any ideas? also- does this high-tech car with climate control really only have two fan speeds? low and high!? thanks
-
yeah. hammer and chisel will do it. like he said, tear into the base of the filter where that rolled lip is lefty loosey
-
this is a new rebuild. just got it 100%.. except for this: each morning i can turn the key and fire up the engine immediately. but once i shut it off, and try again, it cranks and cranks and takes some tappin the gas pedal to get it to start. any ideas?

emissions crap / easy-out proccess / rear caliper press
fernando65 replied to fernando65's topic in Virtual Mechanic
went again, passed by the skin o my teeth! thanks again. one more step toward completion -
whats BFH?! yeah i read a posting about the rust being a problem. i just cant imagine it affecting the car so much, i guess ill make more sense of it when i see it. youre talking about rust building up behind the caliper hub right? hmm so those threaded holes are for a puller. bah. maybe autozone will lend me one

i havent tackled this project yet but i have had some terrible experiences trying to get rotors off. it looked to me like there is a phillips screw going into the rotor (rear). there are also a couple threaded holes. normally, i just take a hammer and bang the hell out of the rotor to get it off but i wanna save these and get them resurfaced (cut)- so i dont wanna damage them. should i find a couple bolts that fit the holes and screw them in to pop the rotor off? im assuming the fronts are basically the same. also- do the rear caliper pistons turn in clockwise? mine is very tight apparently, cant get it to budge. thanks
