Nice work! How hard is it to modify the caravan intake to work? I like those fans, man they sound beast!

It was a little bit of a pita. once I figure out posting pix ill post them. I shaved and welded the egr passages and cut out the entire section where the carb would go... fabbed up a flange with help from my friend who operates cnc and welded it on. no idea how its going to perform

the fans scream.. no doubt! you can hear them from the other side of the house!

Question when you were reving it up sounded like it was cutting out around 3500-4000 ?

its not tuned. the old tune was for stock compression and the stock intake/ tb mixer setup..tip in way lean.. going on the dyno this week

Thank You!! The body is rough but I got it with a blown motor for $650 so I cant complain.. I cant wait to drive it. Thursday I have the appointment to get it tuned

I had a hard time trying to get these to upload... many more pix but Ill have to leave it for another night..... I picked up the car from a kid who bought it from a junk yard.. doesnt have a salvaged title but is rusty and banged up.. Im happy with it for what it is.. Car was broken in to... looked like it hasnt been ran in years.. kid pulled the motor and in the process cut all of the wiring up rather than unbolting or disconnecting so I had to go through everything.. fun fun... also when the car was broken in to door got mangled and the radio was busted up... yuck!! I believe the car was from Virginia in case anyone recognizes it.

so..

The fun began. I decided to build on a budget...Everything was either Ebay used or custom fabbed to stay within budget... and tried to spend the money on the more worthy stuff.. ECU, Tires, suspension... fabbed up all the intercooler piping port and chamber work on the cylinder head.... Got it running and had it tuned.. Well.... I didnt realize my banjo fittings on the fuel lines were a huge restriction. While tuning i had detonation with the stock pistons and intake setup. cylinder #3.. fuel pressure was dropping higher up in the powerband.. after I fixed the fuel issue didnt realize there was damage till after but it was done.. I asked my tuner to correct some minor fueling concerns as I started noticing issues had no idea that the motor was about to go.. So we tuned it and after I left I felt like something was wrong... it actually made less power the second time around.. (dyno graph pictured) and was starting to smoke.. got home pulled the plugs to find #3 was saturated... compression says all... 1-4 (120,120,60,120) 1st crank 1-4 (80,80,15,80)... I wanted to cry...so I decided to build further.. I had already built an engine for my Starion (The Shredder) thats getting restored and figured I should just use the bottom end from that since it was ready to go.. with Wiseco Pistons...and all new fresh internals... swapped my head from the Beast Quest on and fabbed up a manifold for it from a Chrysler 1986 Caravan.. Hopefully this will help with fueling... we shall see!!

I bet AFR's are alot more stable with the caravan intake.

it was as the tuner described at first very finicky. he said it was a down grade.. but then he started to get some where with it and the torque dropped horsepower increased and the rpm band stretched. made 40 more hp and 20 more tq
