I bet they still leak....And it has a $100 core charge.....

I bought a reman on EBAY for $252+$100 core, so I spent $352 and it leaks still...

I sent my old one back once I got them swapped out, and I got my $100 core back...

And I still have a leak....

Alot of them are the wrong gearbox to begin with. They're usually the truck gearboxes.

Let's see how it works out l will keep you updated  will take the chance on it at this price if it leaks we can write it off as garbage for good lol  l just hope they polished or machined smooth surface on the shaft where it comes out through the oil seal to the pitman arm cause usually there is pitting around that area and don't seal right

you are right that would be a good idea on new one or remanufactured that is if it leaks in the first place  should not leak if remanufactured and tested already and if there's a problem I will return it till I get one that don't leak LOL although it does suck installing it on and off

I built mine and have no leaks. Got the rebuild kit from autozone. Think it was about 85 bucks. Not hard to do just follow the writeup that Kev did. ;)

Yep, apparently I am the destroyer of steering boxes. I can't even remember how many i went through in 10k miles. 3... 5? Way too many for sure. They would be tight on install and last a month before the play began to creep back in ...
I beat the snot out of my car and the RedHead box takes it like a champ

I found  extra gearbox some place behind all the  quest doors and pile of parts  no shaft play  just leaking seal by the pitman arm. But it looks like someone replaced the seal already and hammered the housing in few places to keep the seal from coming as the shaft turns     should there be metal ring or something in there where seal gets pressed in?  I tried 2 diferent brand new seals and they seem loose in there?
