It might work in my favor with the amount of turbo 4cyl parts I have to perhaps do a 4G63/4 build instead of an LS1 build. If I did go this direction I want to keep the customization to a minimum. So I was seeing if anybody had a 4G that will bolt up to the stock Starion transmission. Could be a build one or a bare block.

Also, the blue island lkq has an 89 mighty max, but I can't tell what engine it has or if it's an automatic from the photos (needs to be the automatic 2.0 4g63 to be a wide block).

The Chicago heights lkq has a 87 (again can't tell from the photo) and 92 Ram 50 (definitely a wide block 4g64, could be 6 bolt or 7 bolt depending on build date).

There's nothing wrong with using a 7 bolt 4g64 by the way, and any of these engines aren't as hard to find as some think.

a wide block 4g63? Quite rare since it was only offered in Automatic Pickups in the US. Wideblock 4g64? All day long in every 89+ pickup (92 or 93 is when the 7 bolts started popping in, anything before that is a 6 bolt) and the vans, 7 bolt wideblocks with Evo decks are in 96-99 Montero Sport ES.

The downside to wideblock 7 bolts is aftermarket flywheel options, because only the 6 bolts can use the g54b Fidanza and Competition clutch flywheels and also Bill Hincher does not build bellhousings for the 7 bolt wideblocks either.

I found a 64 in a scrap yard, still in the truck.  Went across the scales with about 500lbs of scrap, came back with engine, then got a check for the difference.  Winnner, winner.
