*THIS POST WILL BE UPDATED WITH A BUILD LIST AS THINGS CHANGE ON THE CAR*

So after looking for a starquest on and off for the last 6 years i just picked up an almost perfect car... 89 Conquest SHP model 5-speed in black, no resprays and minimal damage that i noticed. Car is packed completely full of parts and extras, came with a spare motor and several upgraded parts like the custom fitted 4 pot wilwood front brakes, i will upload some pics once i get home as im in the truck dragging it from fresno back to Roseville, CA.

Mods Planned

coilovers

bracing to stiffen up the car and make it a fun mountain cruiser and autoX car

some trick upgrades to bring electronics up to modern

Mods Installed

Wilwood BBK that fits under stock rims

83 starion crank pulley

unknown brand Down Pipe

drop springs on tokiko blues and koni yellows

i will get pics of the car and the extras tomorrow, went through most of it tonight...
i have a complete tan interior, currently the car has a combo of tan/black interior installed, it has several extras parts that i can only assume are common wear items, has a narrowband, HKS boost gauge, 3 pack and a sunlite oil pressure gauges, has a spare airdamn that needs a little bit of love to work, spare fender, missing a couple parts that i am guessing are going to be hard to find. spare motor is on a stand of sorts next to the car. if yall got any questions feel free to drop them here

spent some time going through things tonight and starting to put the interior all back together while i wait for a chance to get most of the tools out of storage i noticed a couple things...

1) i am missing several parts needed to make her run such as a dizzy and intercooler and a list of odds and ends that i need keeps growing
2) there is a difference in the interior types, all the black parts i have are slightly smaller due to the moonroof on the car.
3) i have a whole mess of parts that i wont need going up for sale/trade here soon.
4) the passenger fender comes off real easy ( i need a picture of the connection area at the front where the headlight goes from someone please as i am trying to straighten out damage to the brace and replace the fender)

ive seen a few people replace the factory boost gauge with an aftermarket one and am curious how i go about dropping this nice looking HKS 20psi boost gauge into the factory spot as cleanly as possible since its almost the same shade of black and orange as the panel.
pics will go up in the morning.

Not suggesting buying parts from TEP. Just showing some pics of installing a boost gauge in the dash.

Do not buy anything from ^^^there^^^ without doing your research. There are plenty of people around the boards to help guide you with your rebuild when questions or problems arise. There's also plenty of guys with hoards of SQ parts. I can try to help with some of those needs if you don't find anything more local to you.

FYI, you have one of the most desirable interiors offered in our cars.

Congrats on the great find.

thank you BC, i appreciate the nice words, and as far as the desirable interior goes are you talking the tan or the black and tan combo? i have both more or less and am going through and mixing the amount of black and tan parts to suit my taste right now, when i am done with that i will be posting a bunch of good shape interior bits up for grabs... mostly tan ;)

The 89 in general isnt very common, so i like that i got an 89 manual trans car. It will end up having a nice 2.0 swap down the road but right now i just want to get it running so i can enjoy having it on the road to start while i build a motor on a stand for it. I slacked on pictures earlier but they will be up in a little bit, also went to storage today and got the tool box in the garage as well as a nice kicker 10" sub that is currently sitting in the trunk right now :)

Hard to tell if the interior was originally all black or the combo. If it was the combo then the carpet and kick panels by your feet should be tan too and they're not, they're black on your car. Might be someone just put tan seats in.

Tan seats and rear corner pieces, i have the tan kick plates but think that the black ones make a better combo look but i will be putting the tan radio side parts in and the tan door panels and see how the black kick panels look at that point.
