Hey

Hey Starquesters :D, I do not own a Starquest yet, but I do come from the other end of the Mitsu Spectrum. I do own a 1976 and a 1977 Colt Galant B), in which they do both have certain parts that interchange with their Starion cousins. First off is my '76 Coupe that is receiving a g63t swap with a Poopra trans. Oh and it has a Toyota Hilux rear axle :D and those wheels aren't staying.

Secondly is my '77 Wagon with the Astron g52b and crappy baby a904 3spd trans. However I do have a KM132 out of technica in the shed for it, just needs a g54b to go with it ;).

Currently chillin on jackstands collecting dust as I'm waiting on a couple more parts to finish up fixing the front suspension

I have contemplated a Starion swap on the wagon, but we shall see, one project at a time...But doesn't mean I can't not still learn more about the astron motors, the wagon's only engine upgrade it has is a g54b electronic dizzy (no more playing with points). Will be hunting the classifieds as well, need a few things to complete my 5 lug swap on the Coupe ;).

Thanks! It's jackstand ballin' right now till I get some new tie rods in for the left side, then I can put it all back together. By the way the Coupe has 103k on the body (original 4g32 chain drive still runs and is running in a friend's '77 that needed it). The Wagon I believe is sitting at 68k on the clock, Original motor and drivetrain ;). Short short history of the wagon, I only cleaned the carb, replaced the dizzy, a basic tune up, and new tires before I proceeded to drive her on her maiden voyage (hadn't been drove more than 500miles in 13yrs) from West Columbia, SC to Oak Harbor WA in about 4.5 days last June...ZERO problems along the way other than 3spd auto + single core radiator + The Appalachians and Rockies = no bueno for water temp  .

I tried registering once on here before under my more common forum username "RaptorReed", but something somewhere got all messed up and that account simply doesn't work (error code, then won't let me see the forum or sign back out ).

Coupe build in short ;)

2.3L g63t

FP Red turbo

R154 5spd

Narrowbody Hilux Rear axle (4.10)

Maybe next year I'll have funds for a Starion. Oh and these aren't my first mitsus, I used to have a 2GNT DSM and a '91 Galant VR4 which I most recently sent to the crusher in December.

I posted a couple cellphones pics up on the FB page not long ago, but here's the rest of the most recent update on the Coupe. Trans is in, but I have to get one of Bill Hincher's trans mounts and move back my trans crossmember to suit the R154. Got to wait till I get some 5 lug hubs and front struts and coilover sleeves so I can level out the front end, in order to take the car to get the driveshaft measured and built.

Anywho....

You can see in this one where the cross member sits and how it needs to come back some.

Have to tilt the motor up about a couple degrees for the tailshaft to clear the frame support beams, the crossmember is what is making it sit higher than it actually will, because we bolted it on just to keep the car mobile(rolling).

mocked up the turbo, leaning more towards just moving the Thermostat up front, not really feeling like totally hacking up my firewall just for the thermostat housing. Gotta order a exhaust manifold with a external wastegate port, no room in the back for a o2 housing mounted one.

Currently the car has no chassis harness, except for the trunk stuff. Luckily I'm retrofitting a entire Galant VR-4 chassis harness to the car lol, will make going quad head lights much easier and updates the fuse block from crappy bus fuses.

G52 + KM110 = more fun than 3spd auto. Oh Blue car doesn't really function anymore, just acts as lawn ornament in driveway lol.
