hey i seen a pic, i think chad maybe had the coil packs mounted near the air filter side of the engine bay...it looked pretty clean not having all those wires going around the valve cover. glad to see you didnt waste anytime installing that unit. glad everything is working out good so far,, good luck with everything

artinist was working on these along with a bunch of other parts, not sure if he ever got around to finishing them

Ford TB TPS wiring needed for Starion.
Ray_R replied to Jonathan's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
i was also wondering the same thing, how did you guys connect to the TPS? -
good work, i have bypassed like that also, using the stock accordian hose cut in half with a copper T pipe in the middle of it. bov in the same location i used some spare hose to route the discharge back in. i swear buy this set up, you can feel the differace. only downside i found was having to take it apart from time to time to clean the filter and what not, but well worth it.

ahh, coolant leak from Magna adapter plate!
Ray_R replied to Jonathan's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
i agree, why did they start using the adapter plate? mine came with that water port welded up and cut out to fit. i wonder if that can still be done? seems like more work to fabricate a plate and more chances for something to leak now that the area has been doubled. there must be some other reason. -

mike are you using the stock ecu to run the fuel pump? i wouldnt mind doing that. what were the hassles with it, your making me second guess myself i didnt order the fuel pump relay. i wonder if sds would let me make the change if i needed to? at the extra cost of course. i like the idea of having the stock fuel pump test connector, do you know if that is wired into the ecu as well or is it a direct connection to the fuel pump? thanks for any input -
what ecu should i use for mpi??
Ray_R replied to rptsi's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
SDS is the best bang for the buck so far. especially if you get the 25% discount. there is a GP still open till the 30th of this month. there are a few members already using this and more on the way. as far as being the BEST, i cant answer that. but i know sds has no need for a laptop to tune and is fairly simple to use, thats what perked my interest in it. -

come on guys, 7 more payments and we can get our units. do not back out on this now. youll ruin our reputation with SDS and make people not want to start these group purchases and we will no longer get these great discounts. -
yes i just found out that part of the egr port going to the plenum was already blocked off. off it goes...

boosted one, had his unit since the very first sds GP. his systems been installed for awhile and im pretty sure he didnt order custom length wiring. i havent seen any issues in the MPI forum about it so... jonathan, good work on the GP, thanks for putting in all the leg work for us. it is greatly appriciated. im sure i speak for everyone. my payment will be sent out this monday, i will contact you when i do. everyone else, lets get those payments in. SDS i a great company to deal with, lets show them that we are a great club to do business with. we need all the support we can get. -
sounds like its would be more of a hassle to try to get it working properly with an aftermarket management system. much easyer to do without it ;D thanks for all the input guys...
-
to use the intake you would have to fabricate some kind of adapter plate, the runner openings or more square then round. then the next issue is how to mount injectors. the 1G injectors mount straight into the head. check the GP forum, there are several MPI intakes for sale for a very resonable price.

my quote also came in high for shipping. i thought the site said shipping is free for all orders over $500. maybe thats just for canadian shipments. ??? art, i would be interested in some heat sleeves. i plan on mounting the unit in the car.
