I have never looked into any V6 applications what motors are out there that are i could use? And the more serious the better honestly but i'll look into SCCA rules as well i really want to race. like real racing. i have a strong passion for cars and i've never had anything i trusted enough to try and get track time.

Haha prolly not i just don't have any Bills lmao and i want 500+ rwhp and a good tranny to take, well racing lol. And also Why wouldn't it be much if i wasn't moving the motor back? i think i if i go V8 the motor will definitely get moved back because it's import that i do this right the first time lol I guess where i'm confused is i don't exactly know what the 'sump' is regardless of it's location. i mean i can guess but that's about it.

My idea of cheap is less than 3000 dollars for a good built NA motor or maybe 4000 for a good high HP turbo engine. and less than 1500 for a 5 speed or less than 2000 for a built 5 or 6 speed (if i need it built depending on how much hp) and i thought a t56 was under $2,000 so it would be do able did you have a better option in mind? And for a chevy II pan how much modification are we talking?

Okay the question is i have an 87 quest roller and want to build a budget so to speak race car. I'm wanting to do it all myself. i would like to be the closest to 50/50 front to rear weight (cutting the firewall is a consideration). with a 5 or 6 speed. i don't want to worry about heat. i was strongly considering a 5.3l iron block (lm7) for the cheapness and available and was thinking about matching it to a t56 (6speed). but i recently got a deal i couldn't pass up on a build 350 .060 over with hypereutectic pistons and 11:1 comp. and i think that wouldn't make a good road race/drift for the heat reasons and for the difficulty of getting a 350 to fit.. but I've already got it so it's a consideration. I also was reading around about a 2.1l destroked evo engine and don't have much info on them besides it's gotta be easier to get a 4cyl in place of a 4cyl and they can rev like CRAZY and i would like to have a good track car. What are my options with a destroked 4g6(4?) transmission wise? is this a cost effective swap? what's the weight compared to iron or even alum. block V8's? Is a 350 .060 over going to have uncontrollable heat issues? is it not a cost effective swap? would the weight be an issue (even with setting it back and even moving it down) Or is a lm7 the best bet for affordable, reliable and trackable horsepower? Any input is WELCOME Thanks guys, Jabu P.S. I will get some pics up of the quest later, if anyone is interested.

I just bought an 87 conquest roller and want to get started on cleaning up the engine bay and i'm just curious, what should stay and what shouldn't. I'd like to cut the firewall and move the engine down and back quite a bit and i'd like to go carb at least to start with since the 350 sbc i have is carb'ed already and i'd like to have ac and i'm thinking switching to a 240sx/mustang steering rack is the way to go? Anyone with any advice or tips and what i should pull out of the car the interior is all out and then engine and trans are gone but everything else is there thanks in advance everyone i'm new here but i'll be around quite a bit and i'd like to get to know everyone and soak up as much knowledge about these cars and cars in general as possible Thanks, Jabu
