Transmition options

We've all thought about it at some point. T-56, RX-7 tranny, etc.The big problem with the T-56 is the need for a custom adaptor plate to mount it, and all the standard other stuff with it, cross member mounts, drive shaft, modding the tunnel etc. The RX-7 tranny also has its issues. the tranny now sitting at an angle and shifter sitting way back. It would be nice if this thread where devoted to transmission options that people have tried over the years. What mods have to be done for each. I've heard of a number of race teams useing them and it seems like you can get lots of gearing options for them.

Ive also been reading a lot about the T5 swap. Seems like this needs the fewest mods out of them all so far since the shifter stays in about the same location and its also about the same weight.
