Im looking at an 89 TSI my buddy has, he says it ran fine when he got it then put a jet valve elimination kit on it. now it has this ticking noise the longer it runs the louder it gets. I am not to sure if its lifters or what it could be or if it was put together wrong when he did it.

Yea your right about the vapor lock thing but that what the man told me but i was confused like you said it is injected. Looks like i have narrowed my search thanks for all your help if any new information comes up ill be sure to post.

I am looking into buying another quest, I am having problems trying to figure out what is wrong with the car. The owner of the car says that it vapor locks on him and i stand there and look at him like I am aware of the drama that goes along with the fuel system in these cars from having to replace it in my last quest. only 2 things come to mind 1 fuel pump and 2 the small arrow shaped screen in the fuel line but i still don't see how that would kill it???? if there is anything else i need to ask him to help narrow the search let me know.

ya I was thinking that two but that is more money and I just need to get her running anotherthing will the rearend hold up because I know I will bell putting my foot in it and in the food trannys what seems to go out in them bec my friend has one and he has bought three and I dont have money like that is there and thing a can do to make the 5spd not break from the parts I cam upgrade in it or no and the from shocks will they hold the 5.0 or will I have to get diff ones and if so what kind and will the 5.0 radiator fit thank for the help

hey I like your injection system would you mind telling me were you got it how much it was and if you are using a new ecu and what it is thanks I want a magna but im only 16 and cant put out that kind of money and is you car an AOD and what shot are you running on both stages thanks alot

im only 16 and have been studying these cars for about two years and man they are bad a** I have had my 88 tsi auto for about three but not driving it it runs but the gassget under the town leeks :x so she sstays there well dad took her away but still I want to put a 302 in her to make it not so cost wise to me and I will have power and with the motor thats in there is coo and all but for me to try and make a name on the street it will not do well it will but with a lot of money and that I dont have a lot of know to the 302 I can make motor monts and get a drive shaft built but this header thig is kiocking my a** I want her to breath and get the s*** off easy I have seem a lot of the guys talking about shorty headers thats all and goo but can I run them out the back and not drag them on the ground and is the rearend strong enough to take all that motor thanks for any help any one can give

hey do you guys know of any other motors that can fit in the quest with little or no mods and what would be a good step up from the stock auto 88 tranny or will a shift kit do

Everyone that nows of free or cheep and easy mods that will make the car run better or increase performance would be greatly appreciated and any info on parts that are big help like the 1G mass cooling fan relay so both fans cut on same time on high and parts like the 16g turbo and what you need to put in with it to work efficiently and anything you guys can add thanks 8)

hey how much do you charge for them and what type of injectors do you think would work the best for a street car but when some guy comes up in his mustang you can own him lol
