Has any one tried the td05h 9 blade exhaust wheel?   Wondering how it would flow compared to going into the td06 family if exhaust wheels

For the price it's probably worth it to just go td06...

It's in a 4wd truck so it rarely sees over 5000 rpm, but It has na pistons so I think there is a kit if exhaust that needs out.

I have a td06h wheel, but I dint think my housing would be to happy

The td06h has been done by some here. The shop I used, advised against the td06h as being to big for the housing. They felt it would compromise the life of the housing and the shape of the nozzle area.

The standard 06 is a little smaller and will work well. It is normally not used in performance builds by turbo shops as the 06h is preferred.

The the sl2 falls between the 05h and standard 06 in size and is more performance oriented, as is the 9 blade 05h

With your compression and heaver load of a auto 4wd truck I would think you would benefit from a turbine that flow more then the 12 blade 05h. As your initial goal is to slow the spool a little so the engine does not see boost the instant your foot touches the throttle and to reduce back pressure.

Now paired with to big of a compressor these bigger hot side turbo's can soon become a monster that can boost creep way past 7 psi. Waste gate porting is recommended.

Turbine sizes.

Lots of great info there, think I could get away with a  blade td05h?

It would save me haveing to get a housing machined again, and no one local to me would do bigger then taking the housing to a td05h.

Sadly this is a some what budget build so I always have to keep that in mind as well.

Unless some one knows some one reasonable to machine the housing for a td06sl2?

How many blade? If you already have a 05h housing. Sure, why not try it.

In post 6 you asked about a blade td05h. 9 or 12?

I think 12 would make a difference and 9 a notable difference. 9 would be experimental to some degree.

My 4wd auto truck had plenty of power with just a stock 12a. 7-1 stock motor at 10 psi with stock ems. More would have been fun, but I did not really need it. When towing 2 sleds I keep the boost under 5 on the hills. I Did not use over drive towing, the trans would get hot.

I once got 9.5 miles per gallon pulling 2 sleds uphill into the wind. I was hammering it a little harder then usually. By the way I had the vac / boost retard module disconnected. :o 92-93 usa octane.

Hey sorry yes this whole post us comparing both a regular and 9 blade td05h wheel.

My trans stays pretty cool, but I have a upgraded cooler, I tow though.  I do use it for mountain bike shuttling in the mountains though
