Wow, guys, I'm seriously jealous of your cars! I had the idea of doign a 1JZ swap into my Conquest since early 2000. So, does someone make a mounting kit or something yet to make it easier? Boho- The 1JZ iacv can get stuck, remove it and spray it out good, but unfortunately you cant take it apart like the 2jz iacv for a better cleaning!

I realized I still had these parts. 2 - 2.6 turbo oil pans $60+ship each? 1 - steering gearbox out of a 1988 starion, needs a new bottom seal(has knuckle bolt too) $65+ship? If you need them make an offer, they are oBo. Thanks, Ryan

Man, I'm so jealous. I wanted to do this swap into my Conquest over 10 yrs ago so it's cool to finally see some people making it happen!

Hahaha! That is crazy...

R 154 Toyota Supra Turbo trans mounted to a wide block
Ryan_V replied to Bill Hincher's topic in Transmission Swaps
Wow...finally the R154 has arrived.. Great Work Bill! -
Hey Guys, This one isn't going to stay automatic for long. I might pull the R154 out of my Sc300 and drop it into the Supra. I'm undecided because that's a lot of damn work to go through when I've heard of some R154s blowing at 400-500rwhp levels, and I've also heard of W58s holding 400-500whp that are treated right. We'll see. I found a GREAT deal on a Supra nonturbo W58 transmission, and Competition Stage 2 clutch. This particular W58 has the extended shifter that fits the 93.5+ Supra and 95+ Sc300 chassis' I just need to get this W58 trans inspected and get the flywheel surfaced. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/202062/DSC00385.jpg http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/202062/DSC00233.jpg This was at TX2K10 Supra meet in Houston last weekend. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/202062/DSC00429.jpg

I just drove this back from Colorado this weekend. 1000+ miles. 1995 Supra non turbo- automatic 125k miles garaged. Always maintained...what we like to hear. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/202062/small_DSC00186.JPG http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/202062/small_DSC00210.JPG http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/202062/small_DSC00183.JPG http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/202062/small_DSC00215.JPG Clean and stock http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/202062/small_DSC00222.JPG http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/202062/rsz_dsc00198.jpg http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/202062/DSC00219.jpg

I suspect that ECU coolant temp sensor as well.

Thats a damn bargain right there. 1988 Dodge Daytona Shelby-Z - $12,601 I guarantee its one of the only cars with forged pistons on that list. It also had MPI, and was capable of over 300hp with a factory turbo kit...which would still have it costing alot less than a Conquest, Supra or 300zx I think this one even had a getrag gearbox..cant quite remember, but it was wrong wheel drive.

Ah man, the swap I've been wanting to do for 10yrs....minus the VVTI. I was told that there isn't a single manifold available to fit the 1jzvvti head right now. Do you know what's really weird about the 1JZ heads, and I don't understand it. Exhaust ports 2 and 5 are smaller than all the rest of the cylinders. I wonder if the 1jzvvti is the same way?? Driftmotion sells upgraded 1jzvvti turbos.

I could see spending $10-12k by going all out with the motor, management and drivetrain alone. You'd have to go all out with everything. 8.5:1 compression, Forged pistons, pauter or carillo rods, heavy head porting job $$$, aggressive cam, mechanical rockers, something big like a T70 turbo, serious engine management like an AEM, Motec or HKS Fcon V tuned by someone that knows what they're doing, big $$ fuel system MPI setup. You'd probably need a tranny swap too $$$

Man, this newb has only been at work about 65% of his work days....he's already been out Mon and Tuesday this week.
-
Thanks Burton, I'm having a bit of an issue here at work with one of the guys taking Friday and Monday off so I may be screwed. Don't know why he had to pick this weekend. If I go, that leaves the newb here by himself.
