Hi Everyone!!

I am in the process of selling stuff from my mother's home on Ebay. I need photo-editting (cropping and resizing) software. I have IBM Thinkpad T30 running Win XP Pro.

I am about to place a bid for used copy of Adobe Photoshop version 6 or 7. Which version of Adobe Photoshop would you guys suggest -- version 6, 7, 8 or CS?

Do any low-cost imitation versions of Adobe Photoshop exist? If so, what would you guys recommend?

Thanks...

Open your Jpg's on MS paint, this is on any version of windos already. In the drop down tab for options, select strecth/skew and enter the amount of reducton you want in % format. IE you want 1/2 size, enter 50% in both the boxes.

This is free and super quick. Then click save-as if you want to save a smaller file leaving the esisting one alone, or just save to overwrite the origional file.

Check into a program called GIMP it is essentially Photoshop by another name. I comes from the GNU/Linux community, but they have ported it to Windows.

I wanted to try Serif's PhotoPlus, but it requires product activation via an e-mail.

I have started using GIMP, even though several friends gave me their install CD's for Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 that came free with other pieces of software that they had bought.

GIMP 2.4.6

GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment 2.10.13 is required for older versions, but not version 2.4.

no one is perfect, myself included. however, just like raising children, just because you may have done something wrong in the past doesn't mean you shouldn't call out bad behavior when you see it. for example, you can't fail to discipline your child for lying even though everyone has told one or two themselves. by the same token, when people dish out compliments for stealing, i will call them out, even if i am not without fault in my past.

encouraging stealing, and crowing about it and praising it are despicable.
