DieHARDmitsu.
two tone is played out, we left that back in the 90s. These cars look good in a solid or metallic color. With a single color paint job, all the angles and curves on the widebody SQs stand out more...just my opinion.

Starquest86
I feel two tones are hard to pull off because of the body lines..
alp247
yeah two tone on our cars doesn't really work with all the flares but it that is what you want..well...that is what you want. If you decide to two tone i woudln't go past the bottom of the window at max. there is that crease there on the fender you can reference and follow for a mock up. from there it's your design and you flavor. Good luck I was just thinking maybe you can just paint your car what you want it to be and then do a wrap on the section you want to be differnt on. that way if you get sick of it or don't like it you can remove it later. Keep in mind you have to let paint cure for about a month i think before you wrap it. Edited February 28, 2012 by alp247
mistapickles
Really there are five or six different ways to do a cool two tone on a Starion....There are body lines that are perfect cuts a two tone. I would go for it, if you want to do it. Here's an unconventional two tone I'm doing on my carhttp://www.fileden.com/files/2007/2/3/727626/comparison.jpgmy previous picture is a photoshop two tone I was planning on my second Starion
kidjc
Played out my butt, that car pickles posted is hot. BC_99 No Question... I agree Britt! I 've also seen his photo shop drawings as well, actually I believe there are several more, & they too are pretty kool. I also have been contemplating a 2 tone paint next time around. Although, some I like, & some I don't. Tough choice... that's why it's nice to have more than (1)... have it both ways!

patra_is_here
if i may cite my two tone glass black / satin black as evidence that two tone can be done right. http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagames/NFS/speedhunters.com/Images/Mike%20Garrett/1%20Feb/irish/starion2.jpg
DieHARDmitsu.
Two tone and louvers go good together .....if you wear a mullet I've seen quite a few two tone hondas, carollas, sentras and IROC Z28. Can't tell you when was the last time I saw a Porsche, Supra, benz coupe or pricier exotics with a two tone paint job.The body curves and lines on these cars flow so well. Why f^*& it up with two tone job. compare http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss25/squaddy11/stariont.jpg http://i558.photobucket.com/albums/ss25/squaddy11/starionw.jpgImages borrowed from the net. mistapickles
I could pick some ugly solid paint jobs and post it, but it doesn't change the fact that two tones can look good on a Starion. What you are forgetting is that this car was designed in the 80's so it fits for the 80's cars. Porsche, Supra, benz coupe or pricier exotics??? you own an 80's sports coupe and even the 80's Benz coupes, Supras and pricier exotics had two tones back then. So get your mullet together YOU drive and 80's car.....

DieHARDmitsu.
^^^^ Hey pickles, I drive an 80's car like no other! One that was way ahead of its time....It has sexy curves, angles and no plastic body kit or rainbow colors need to make it look good.

mstieg
^^^ agreed. I'd like to see some more ESIR ones with red as main, and either white or black as 2nd. Consider me subsribed to this thread out of interest if nothing else. I could simply buff certain parts of mine and have a red/pink car as is. mistapickles
You could go to a vehicle wrap company and have them make just the blue portion of the ESI-R any color you want and wrap it for little to nothing I'm sure....if you want the illustrator file to get it done PM me your e-mail...only if you're really going to do it though, I'd like to see it happen in real life and if you're really going to do it I'll give it to you.
