87BlueStarion
Is it true that 5 Lug Mustang Cobra wheels will fit our starions. If so what do I got to do to make them fit right, meaning do I need spaceers etc. Thanks StarionCobra
Conquest351
They have the same bolt pattern. I work at a ford performance shop and I put 13" Cobra rotors on my Conquest one day to mess with my friends. Took his big a** rotors off and swapped them with my Quest. Fit great...with the wheels off. LOL
88Konquest
So in order to fit the brakes on there you need bigger wheels?
Quest4Power
So in order to fit the brakes on there you need bigger wheels? to run 13" rotors yes. about the biggest you'll fit under a 16" wheel is maybe 12" but that would be pushing it a little. Conquest351
Yeah, it almost makes me think about putting late model Mustang hubs on my car and putting Cobra brakes on the car. I don't know how much modification would be needed though. Hmmmmmmmmm............................. ???
CHC
Would you imagine that all the hubs are the same on the mustangs? I think that just about all the 'stangs have the same hubs, as you can upgrade the brakes with the cobra brakes no matter the base type of pony. That beng said, I did a basic/quick search on www.Car-part.com for a 2001-up Mustang front Hub W/ABS. They range in price from 25-50 each all over the US. I am now looking up prices on the new claipers/bearings/ect that woule be required. Cannot find the calipers period online... hmm junkyards anyone? Superfro
dude that would be the greatest... Mustang 13" breaks.... and with those sick a** wheels if the mustang has the same bolt pattern, cant we just put in '02 mustang in tirerack and use those same wheels? just order fatter wheels on the back

Conquest351
Have at it, if you're in Texas I can hook you up with some hubs and stuff we have here at the shop.
CHC
looking on ebay and I spot a few auctions that might be of interest... Complete rotor set, drilled slotted for the 94-up 220... Many calipers for pretty cheap(50-100) just need to find hubs...

I just finished a mod on my camaro that I really like. Though really simple looking. ('92) I took the front turn signal and split the park and turn light functions of the light. I cut the housing and the park light now functions as a driving type light, and the orange turn light is in a separete portion of the housing. The proto type that is on the car got scratched(clouded) so I will have to make another set that will have lexan coverings that will be crystal clear. rjf
As many have found out, since the bolt pattern for a SQ is the same as Ford passenger car 5 lug, the Mustang wheels (as well as a lot of Ford wheels) will bolt. It just takes the proper spacer to get the track right. However for those folks wanting to also bolt on the big Mustang rotors, the hard part will be fabricating a bracket to mount he caliper. On Oscars big brake GP, it was the caliper bracket that took the engineering time, most of the rest of the parts were off the self.

Conquest351
I would but our digital camera took a dump on us. I have a 97 Cobra here and a friend has a digital camera, I'll see what I can do. Brian
artinist
why would you go through all the trouble of changing hubs? the offset is still wrong on those wheels and you will need spacers. when you get spacers they become bolt-ons.
Conquest351
Not wheels man, brakes. We are looking to make an easy brake swap kit.
TerasKas
Yeah, you gotta use spacers or else they will rub, mine did.
eeaston
Changing hubs won't help with a brake swap. Your calipers mount to the spindle/upright/hub carrier/strut housing, that's where the caliper adapter comes into play.
artinist
these aftermarket Rustang cobra R wheels (17x9 & 17x10.5) are a direct fit (bolt pattern and offset) to the starion using coilovers. ;D http://www.wheelreplicas.com/cobrar5lug.htm
