Which color LED Bulbs should I use?

Im thinking about putting Led bulbs in my tail lights. Should I just buy all white and lenses do the coloring? Or do I need to buy the same color led as the lense?

If your tails are origonal then it's your choice. Colored could be darker and not as visable during the day.

 

If you opened your tails to make them clear then you must use colored LEDs or face getting a ticket.

Clear out the lenses and use colored LEDs. Trust me I went both ways and its WAY better with red LEDs and a clear lens. If you have them apart just ditch the red part

I was thinking about doing that and then tinting them... wish I had some extras to experiment on

What bulbs are you using.

I'm using strip LED PCBs from lunaraccents.com yhen I bought 500 x 8000mcd red LEDs on Ebay from China. 500 surface mount 330 Ohm resistors from Digikey. Really wasn't bad but I went overboard... And still plan modifications .. Because you're never happy the first time
