    ECU

I am the original owner of a 1985 Starion ES without the intercooler, however, I did install a factory intercooler. My car uses a ECU with the following stock number: #MDO84582. Browsing thru EBay Starion parts, I noticed an ad for an "85-86 Mitsubishi 2.6 M/T FED ECU#MDO71084." Does anyone know what the difference is and what the "FED" stands for? The connectors on both ECU's are the same. Currently, I have an ECU that shows only one code while another shows a number of codes. I thought I would get another ECU for comparison sake. I have installed a number of ISCs always giving me a cold idle speed of about 300 rpms and a warm idle speed of the normal 800 rpm.
  2. Hi: I am interested in the fans, but I would need to see pictures of these as I have a Griffen aluminum radiator which has specific fan mounts. My e-mail address is as follows: syankurajr@sbcglobal.net
  3. Somewhere, I was informed that the 1985 Starion Es stock injector flow rates is 550 cc. My current injectors run fine, except that occasionally, I have to temporarily disconnect both of them to get the engine started. Once started, I quickly connect them before the engine dies. I assume that the injectors sometimes bleed out into the intake manifold when the engine is not running. I recently ordered rebuilt injectors for a 1985 Starion and was sent two injectors with a flow rating of 850 cc. After installing them, I started the engine, and it would barely run. While driving the car, my air fuel meter showed a continuously rich mixture. I am aware that the computer is programed to run rich until the engine is warmed up, but this was after it warmed up. When I opened the throttle, the engine faltered with no accelleration. After replacing the reconditioned injectors with mine, the car again ran fine. I am thinking that the computer can not compensate for the 850 cc injectors.
  4. Should there be any side to side turbo shaft play.
  5. need the left cluster switch, otherwise known as the "head lights-parking lights-off switch" for a 1985 ES Starion. I have a switch for a 1986, but the electrical connector is different.
  6. I am looking for a good working turbo for a intercooled Starion. Thanks.
  7. Hello: Do you still have the radiator cooling fans available? Thanks. My e-mail address is as follows: syankurajr@sbcglobal.net

    SOLD

Hello: Would this fit a 1985 Starion and would this be similar to the one I now have?
  9. Hello: Would you happen to have a driver's side radiator fan that will fit a Griffen aluminum radiator? I have a 1987 Conquest fan that bolts up to the passenger's side of the radiator. I can e-mail you a picture of the radiator if that would be helpful. Thanks. My e-mail address is as follows: syankurajr@sbcglobal.net
  10. Thanks for the reply. I'll have someone crank the engine while I look at the injectors inside the throttle body.
  11. Thanks for the reply. I will check to see if they are different. If they are, I will check mine for possible leaks.
  12. Ever since the engine over heated, and I had to replace the head which was cracked in two places, the engine starts rich but according to the air fuel ratio guage runs in the optimum range any time else. If the driver does not start the engine on the first try, it will flood to the point of having to disconnect the injectors. Once the injectors are disconnected, the engine will then start fine and will continue to run once the injectors are reconnected. I recently obtained a injector body off a 1986 Station with the Idle Speed Control and Throttle Position Sensor attached. Would replacing this whole assembly possible solve the problem. I have replaced the Idle Speed Control several times in the past and it seems to work for a whille and then quits. It currently does not function, but once the engine warms up it idles exactly at 800 rpm.
  13. I recently installed the intercooler off an 1986 Starion along with all the rubber hoses and pipes, and, now I would like to connect the turbo. This, of course, has the outlet facing the injector body. My rubber hose approaches from the passenger's side of the engine compartment. Is it possible to rotate the outlet to face the other direction? If so, where does the actuator mount?
  14. I am looking for the driver's side fan that will bolt to a Griffen alumminum radiator. I can send a picture via e-mail.

    WANTED

I am looking for a driver's side radiator fan to fit a Griffen aluminum radiator. I received a passenger's side fan from an 87 Conquest which bolts up perfectly. I can send a picture of the Griffen Radiator with this fan mounted via e-mail.
