  1. my vote is with 1uz, been in a 1uz turbo car before (not a conquest), and it was awesome! Tons of power, available, inexpensive, and as bc said lightweight. You'll probably spend more money on the turbo aspect of the build than the engine, and the r154 would probably be necessary. Unfortunately r154's are getting expensive!
  2. very simple, never done an auto, but the harness to the 2j is very straight forward. Its about 1 step above wiring a car stereo. lol! Just remember some of the later model vvti's have ecu's that can't be used because of anti-theft stuff. I adapted the stock ecu harness to feed my 1j. also while I was at it I got rid of the stock fuel pump relay and gave the fuel pump a dedicated relay, power, and fuse that comes on constantly in 'run'.
  3. looks like a good deal, too bad you can't see it through, so close! I'm soo tempted right now... but to whoever buys this, you won't regret it, been driving mine daily for a few years now and its been a blast, even with the stock twins. I'll have to do some digging, but I may have a downpipe for the stock twins from before I went single.
  4. lol, go to dsm shootout and a 9 second 4cyl car is the norm, gotta be 8's for the win!
  5. Actually true... ad says late model 1j, the later 1j's were vvti with single turbo. How does the shifter fit? I think the tripod r154's shifter is further back from the mk3 supra, mk3 fits perfect into stock location. Still, great price indeed!
  6. I work on a few, I'll ask around. How much?
  7. the difference with historic or classic plates is the part I didn't like, they are easier to get but carry more restrictions. Of course I'm sure this varies from state to state, but in ohio historic plates are only meant to be driven to and from car events and during nice weather. Collector plates carry no restrictions other than having another primary car.
  8. I have state farm collector insurance on my 91 corvette zr1 and it was just stated value, they did however have me bring it into their office to get pictures of and verify its condition. In ohio you don't even have to keep a collector in a garage, just need to have another primary vehicle. Still need to get the conquest on collector plates, but it will be a little harder than on the vette. Also realize that if anything ever does happen to your customized conquest that you can have the car appraised after the fact to get a more fair settlement assuming the car wasn't completely destroyed or stolen. It is not easy, and very frustrating though! I had hit a deer a few years ago in the car in my sig, it was immediately declared totalled and worth only 1100! It took a few frustrating phone calls, but State farm did end up sending someone out to assess the value of the car, I forget exactly what they decided, but it was somewhere around 6500 if I remember correctly. Luckily this was enough to get 3500ish to repair the car and keep a clean title.
  9. picked 'em up today, thanks for posting!
  10. Import faceoff is in hebron ohio (east side of columbus) this sunday. Anyone going? Its about 2hrs from Cincy and I'm thinking of leaving around 8 or 9, taking the conquest. If anyone along the way would like to caravan this could be fun! https://www.facebook.com/events/457759487714189/
  11. I guess we should all dream to be as fast as Funky Phil!
  12. lol, appreciate the hate... Gave me a grin as I drove my slow car today!
