Threedoor
Are the louvers jacked up on that first car? Looks like they end about half way down the hatch. Turbo is from an intercooled car with hose bent around to go into crossover. Keith Edited July 28, 2012 by Threedoor

TexasQuest
Turbo is from an intercooled car with hose bent around to go into crossover. KeithNo that is the correct non-intercooled turbo used from 83-86.
MikeMeyerhoff
He is talking about the first car, the 84, which does have an intercooled style turbo on it. Its kind of surprising that the hood will close with that piping routed like that. The 84's rust is probably worse than the images make it out to be. Water gets in where the lower body molding snaps in. Mitsu put that one mounting point directly below the door gap where all that water from the roof runs over. Even a otherwise rust free car will probably be starting to rust there if you dont' take care of it. I'd like to buy it for parts, but am just too busy atm. 87redcat
Well guys I ended up owning the 86. Gonna fix her up stock and the 84 is a joint purchase with a friend of mine. He's getting the motor and dash and I end up with the rest. Will eventually post parts as we have time to remove them. Yes that's a newer turbo on the 84. Guy purchased the wrong one and installed it anyway. Also did the same for the 86. And get this... he had a G54B crate motor sitting there. Had to have it too. Threedoor
Whats up with the louvers? Good or bad? I am interested if they are complete. Keith
87redcat
Keith, the car is sitting at my friends house. The rear window louvers are not complete. They have some slats missing. The side louvers appear to be intact. Have not yet had time to fully inspect them as we are on different shifts at work.Since you are the first to ask you have dibbs on them. Will try to get to his house this week to further inspect them and let you know something.Dave

87redcat
Keith, have not been able to get to my buddies house this week had to work a late night and it threw my whole week off. I did however talk to him and he tells me the rear louver is shot and the side louvers are also in bad shape. As. we both work in composites we are going to try to restore them so we can use them to make molds to make fiberglass louvers. So we/I are going to be holding on to them for now. Who knows we may be able to find a sheetmetal guy. for the rear louvers and make a few of them as well We will let the whole SQC community know when we have a few to let go at a decent price. Thanks for your interest and as before I will keep you at the top of the list for a set.Dave
