I finally heard from the machinist. The aluminum center caps are going to be about $110 a set shipped in the continental US.

They will be identical to the ones that SQrims sold years ago, with the exception of being natural aluminum and not polished.

Please PM me to pre order a set. I will let this simmer for a couple of weeks and then I will place the order.

Thanks everyone who has stepped up so far.

Guys, this is how this will work, for those of you who haven't been involved in a group purchase with me before now.

By the cut off day. Which will be in the next couple of weeks. I will require a 50% ($55) non refundable deposit, to secure your preorder. Add 3% for standard PayPal, or you can send it as a gift if you're prefer to save that money. If for some reason, I can't complete this group buy, I will refund everyone's deposits. This will be the ONLY reason any refunds will be issued.

I will then place the order with the machine shop for that many sets. I will keep everyone up to date with information as I receive it from them. But this is a fairly simple piece, and shouldn't take long to run the batch, so it will just be determined by their schedule. Upon completion of the order, you will be required to send the other 50% of the payment. Once I receive the final payment, I will ship your center caps to you.

If for some reason you can't immediately complete your order. I will hold it for you, for up to 120 days from the parts being completed and ready for delivery, for you to complete your final payment. At that time, your order will be offered to the community for sale. If you wish to sell your preorder to another member, within that time frame, that can be arranged, but we'll have to have a group PM conversation, with all involved parties, to make sure everyone is on board with the transaction.

If you wish to pay in full up front, that will be perfectly acceptable as well. Please PM me for payment details and include your SQC screen name in the payment. I will update list in the first post with the details concerning your payments.

If you are newish to the site, community, or with just buying from me, please check out my feedback or ask around about me. I'm a long time member and vendor here, but I want everyone involved to be comfortable and confident in me,concerning your hard earned money.

Thanks folks,

BC

Bump.

Last day to get in on this. If you want to be in on the first batch....you have until tomorrow. Then the order will be placed, and if you miss out, it's your own fault.

Okay folks,

I placed the order this morning with the machinist. I ordered a couple of extra sets...just in case some of these folks who haven't gotten their deposits in yet, decide they still want these. Or if any new interested parties decide to jump in.

They just got a couple of big jobs in, so our stuff is in line behind that. It will be 2-3 weeks before they are getting our caps started...so if anyone else wants in, please PM me.

I will keep everyone informed as I receive the info.

To all involved parties.....

I spoke with the machinist yesterday. They had some unexpected delays in the order that is ahead of ours. So naturally, we got pushed back a bit. They should be starting our center caps towards the end of this week, barring any further delays. I am delivering a wheel to them tomorrow for test fitting etc...

Just wanted to update you folks with what I know, as I find it out. Thank you for your patience.

I spoke to the machinist last week. They had some further delays on the project ahead of ours. So, we are still waiting. Hopefully it can happen soon.

The caps are finally being made. The machinist kept getting bigger $ jobs that kept bumping us down the list. If you have paid in full, expect tracking numbers soon. If you have only paid a deposit, I will pm you to discuss the balance of the payments. Thanks for the patience.

OK guys, I have the parts.

I did some test fitting this afternoon and comparison pics for you guys. So, here goes....

You will receive 4 machine finished aluminum caps, as promised. They will fit like this...

Posted Image

As compared to a stock cap

Posted Image

Posted Image

Now, for any of you guys that wanted polished caps.... I have good news for you. These polish VERY EASILY!!!!

Posted Image

This is literally less than a minute of polishing with a 3" orbital sander with a buffing pad and some White Diamonds metal polish.

Posted Image

Posted Image

You can still see some of the machining lines. But, with a few grades of sandpaper and a few more minute....these can be polished to a mirror shine.

I will be starting to create packages tomorrow after work and hope to be sending the first several out on Weds. the 1st.

Thank you all for your patience.

Great product that are shaped (slightly curved, not flat) and fit same as OEM, but more secure and sturdier than stock plastics
