  1. Guess I'm gonna have to sell my crappy old under valued widebody and buy one of those flatties! Gonna have to take out a second mortgage on the house though if those values keep going up!
  2. I think the low mileage speaks volumes. There was an extremely nice all original red Conquest on Ebay a few months back that didn't meet reserve at 10K but they must have sold it because it wasn't relisted.
  3. The odometer numerals are a little crooked, that could be a red flag, but noticed that the numbers aren't quite straight across on my '87 or '88 either. The low mileage is their biggest selling point, so hopefully it's correct for their sake.
  4. You guys do make a good point regarding values. Better 12K than $900 I guess. Maybe the day will come when nicely restored Starquests sell in the $20K range. Time will tell and nice examples are becoming harder to find. I looked off and on for over 15 years before finally buying one and now I'm hooked. Prices are currently low enough to get involved with a really fun to drive, rare car that turns heads without breaking the bank.
  5. I'm not trying to be a hater AND I guess the price is negotiable AND I guess the mileage is low, but that car does look like it was out in the weather for a long time and it's really wet with oil underneath. It should be a very well sorted car for that price. BY THE WAY, I have some really nice oceanfront property in Kentucky to trade for it if they're interested.
  6. Check this one out. Automatic with dull wheels and water in the right taillight. Really? Maybe the pinstripes add value. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mitsubishi-Other-ESiR-/281261123924
  7. Pulled the battery, tray and washer tank today. On the bottom, there is a sending unit (float) for the "wash" light. Pulled the rubber unit out of the tank and it's basically disintegrated inside. I reinstalled it in the tank and pulled one of the sending unit's wires from the 4 pin connector that is located by the corner above the battery tray. I pushed the tab on the terminal to pull it out of the connector and taped it off so that it could be put back in if necessary. No cut wires and the light is OFF. Glad I pulled the tray too, pretty nasty with road debris underneath. The car will be a little faster now with the dirt gone.
  8. I know! The car is clean so the light should go out, right? I did a little research and found the front tank is the only one with a sensor. I'm going to ground the white / blue wire that goes to the to the sensor and that annoying light should go out.
  9. I have two Starions. One '87 and one '88. The "wash" dash light is on in both cars (and has been since I bought them.) While driving the '88 the other night, the light went off a couple of times, possibly when hitting bumps in the road and came back on. Of course, checked the front and back fluid levels in both cars and the lights are still on in both. I'm sure there must be a sensor in each tank. Probably would be good to replace them if they are available. This must be a common problem if both cars are doing the same thing. If anyone has any advice as far as availability or replacement tips or if the sensors are even at fault for the newbie, I'd really appreciate it! Brian
  10. I'm in Charlotte. Do you have the rest of the hold down bracket that attaches to the tray? If so, I'm interested. Brian
  11. I guess someone pulls them all out and throws them in the trash to lighten up the car a little! Can't believe they're that hard to find.
  12. Hello, I'd be interested in the alternator for my '87 Starion and also the battery clamp or bracket if you have it. What price for shipping to Charlotte, NC 28278? THANKS! Brian
  13. I need the assembly that holds the battery in place for my '87 Starion. Someone has rigged a red Autozone "fits all" unit that is SUPER UGLY. The correct holder fastens to the radiator support with one screw and has a "hanger" that hooks down by the base of the battery. THANKS!! Brian
  14. looks good. Mine seems to sit a little lower than that even. I'm starting to wonder if it needs new springs.
