car was delivered to me mostly done. Engine has a leak that was never resolved and there is an electrical issue that is causing most exterior lights to not work. The car does run fine but I wouldn't drive it until the oil leak issue is fixed.


Car is practically brand new. Got to drive it twice before it was garaged and the issues above presented.


Car is currently in Cincinnati, OH.


highlights of the car:

ls1 swap (engine had 38k original miles)
t56 trans rebuilt by Tick Performance
all body panels were replaced by new old stock parts
car has A/C all of which was new
expensive body work and paint
New oem air dam
83 hood
83 tail lights
new oem front bumper support
NoS 6 bolt rear axles
brand new D2 coilovers
new windshield


there is more i'm sure. Next to nothing was untouched on car in terms of new or replaced except the interior carpet/seats/radio. I'll add the other stuff as i remember


to go with the car i have a nice set of shp rims that I never got to install...some extra body panels....a new nico air dam...a 2nd set of 83 tails


all in all i have over 30k into the car but sadly have lost motivation to take the last couple steps


I'm looking to sell it for 10k.

Do you have updated pictures?    Your build thread hasnt been updated since 2019...

Nothing has changed on the car since 2019. I drove it twice in Oct 2019 right after the last update. Once to pick up the car and once on a test drive before picking up the car. It's been garaged and not driven since then.

i can get it out and snap pictures this weekend depending on fair weather. The car hasn't touched precipitation since it went under the knife and I have no desire to deviate from that.

Man ... I'm disappointed this car is for sale.  This has been one of my favorite threads to follow, I've wondering a few times recently what happened to this car and where it was at progress wise.  Certainly doesn't seem like it would take much to iron out what's left.

agreed. Unfortunately I've lost mechanic support for the car and don't have the know how myself to chase how it was wired to find the issue.

if the light issue was chased down i'd probably keep the car

how much have you searched the forums and troubleshooted?   Plenty of people have had the "no exterior light" issue.

So what happened with Larry "slowquest". He isn't LS swapping SQs anymore?

thanks for the links. I didn't search the forum because i figured the wiring was custom due to the swap. As far as the lights go they all worked when I got the car back. Then Larry came over to fix an issue with a couple screws and I noticed one bulb was out in the tail lights. He removed the bulb to replace it and suddenly all lights stopped working. he put a new bulb in and nothing came back...he put the old bulb in and nothing came back. I didn't think every exterior light was on the same circuit so it seemed strange to us. he was going to troubleshoot it at some point but he either got busy or ran into something personal i don't know about.

I will check out those links you gave me and see where it gets me. I appreciate it.

at this point i'll put the sale attempt on hold and move over to the troubleshooting forum and ask advice there.

I definitely understand where you are coming from. Find a good car electrician in your area, and they should be able to chase down the issue. I had to do something very similar when my quest had electrical demons. I certainly have had days where I have wanted to leave my quest on the side of the road and just walk away....

Stay the course. Your hard work WILL pay off in the end!!!
