steering wheel radio control

Hi.. remote on wheel doesnt work...I was wondering if you guys have the wiring diagram for it....when I first got my 87 tsi all wires were rip from radio so I had to redo the wiring but now I want to do the remote to make it work

any help is highly appreciated

Does the horn work? The steering wheel buttons get power via the horn circuit so that's Step #1 in the fix.

The steering wheel buttons end up going to the small squarish 8-pin connector on the back of the head unit.

Look for black+white (BW), blue+white (LW), yellow+white (YW) wires... these go between the steering wheel buttons and the 8-pin connector. A green+white (GW) wire also goes from that connector to the green+white wire on the main connector.

 

8-pin connector pinout:

YW-XX-GW-LW

XX-XX-BW-XX

 

XX are missing/empty pins. The connector shell has plastic ribs on the top, above the YW and LW wires.

See page 8-236 of the factory service manual for the head unit wiring.

or the way you posted is looking from the back or the front of thr plug?!
