gottraction
Ok i looked in the FAQ and search on the site. i do see a few threads about this. it looks like they all need to be updated. pics arent showing up anymore or the thread is not showing all what im looking for. I read on one post that the vaccum advance is suppose to go to the #1 port. i have no idea where that is at on this car. could someone provide me with a new breakdown with all of the vaccum lines showed with a picture marked showing where they all are suppose to go? My idle is crappy on morning startups and ive replaced the 02 sensor and one coolant temp sensor. Just want to try to narrow it down cause i think the last owner might have ran or blocked off somethings that shouldnt have been blocked! Spooled_Starion
I believe that the vacuum advance runs off the number 1 port on the throttle body closest to the firewall.
Spooled_Starion
Also, my 88 starion has the vacuum line diagram printed on the bottom side of my hood. Check yours and see if it's printed on it.

importwarrior
INFAQEngine Exhaust/Intake TurboVacuum Line RemovalPage 3last post This is what i did for my Vac Line Delete my car didnt have AC and it was all removed. Also my car didnt have a charcoal canister underthe air can on passenger side. it was vented in theback near the gas tank. Also there is no BOV so this is absolutly the basic Vac line setup. I was hoping to ADD this to the topic in the Tech section.http://www.starquest...showtopic=28042 The Blue Hose goes to my Boost Gauge on dash. The Center is just blocked off. the Black Hose goes to the Distributor Vac Advance. Below the 3 in a row is the vac line that goes to the Foot FaceActuator for your heater controls. also note the last pic it is #4 if you have a BOV, T off of the Blue vac line shown in the 1st Pic. Thats It. http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q299/I-W/Quest_Parts_and_Info/IMG_1436.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q299/I-W/Quest_Parts_and_Info/IMG_1437.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q299/I-W/Quest_Parts_and_Info/IMG_1438.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q299/I-W/Quest_Parts_and_Info/Mani-Vac-Ports.gif

mbruneaux
I have a hard pipe kit and a manual boost controller to install. With the OVC input gone which of the TB ports do I use #2?
mikec
If your MBC needs boost pressure only (not manifold vacuum/boost) then tap into the port right at the throttle body inlet. That port is not shown in importwarrior's pic. That port is pretty much the same as the factory OVCP port. In the factory service manual diagrams this is the port coming out of the top and pointing towards the right of the throttle body, it connects to the "L" vacuum hose. If your MBC has blowoff/bypass valve functionality, then you need manifold vacuum/boost and you'd use the #4 port on imporwarrior's pics. mike c.
