I was looking through the fsm and cant find how many bulbs their are in the a/c panel. The lights went off but the head unit still beeps, controls the compressor, fan etc.The dash lights work so it seems wierd the bulb or bulbs just burned out.Can the light controller still work the dash but not the control head?

The AC control panel has (2) different size bulbs..  1 type for the center LCD display and the other type for the lites behind the buttons.  1 type is fairly common but the smaller size is no longer available.   I did luck out and got a few from my contact in Japan...

Just my $0.02...  ;)

So the dimmer switch controls dash lights and a/c panel  lights, but half of the switch can go bad that feeds the control panel.

First things first, check your dash lights. If they're out, your dimmer's bad. My 88's dimmer was bad when I got the car, and the ac controls didn't light up or work correctly. Changed the dimmer and all was good. If you dash lights do work,. check all your fuses.
