We just got a block off plate for our egr on a 1989 conquest. I cannot find where this goes into the manifold. It goes to the secondary air cleaner with the vacuum line coming off, but I dont see where it goes into the intake. There is a tube on the bottom of the secondary air cleaner that isnt connected to anything. Is that it? Not sure if its already been deleted and they just left of piping and aircleaner still in.

thanks

Blocking the egr off won't help with performance, if that's your reason for doing so. Are you asking where the vacuum lines need to go if you delete the egr? There are some color coded vacuum diagrams on here somewhere. Sorry, but I'm not helpful with providing links on here.

The rubber tube coming off the secondary air cleaner goes to an aluminum pipe that wraps around the firewall side of the motor and into the stock pre-cat down pipe. It supplies secondary air into the exhaust. If you have an aftermarket down pipe, there is probably no bung for it to connect to. Unless you are trying to pass an emissions test, go ahead and get rid of what's left of the secondary air system and plug the vacuum lines associated with them

ok now that makes more sense thank you. I thought the tube going from the secondary air was the egr supply. Im just wanting to block off the exhaust gas from getting into the intake. is that possible even if its internal coming from the head?

Yes and no. Blocking it will just dead head it in the manifold, probably worse than letting it flow through as designed. Other guys (like most mods on here)can chime in and explain better than I can. I just know where the parts and pieces go and am mostly a stock setup kinda guy

Removing EGR does nothing for performance. It's only active while cruising. EGR lowers emissions and raises mpg slightly. Removing EGR will not make your car faster. Remove it if you want but it's one of those misguided mods alot of car guys do thinking it's beneficial. I added EGR to my MPI manifold.
