TexasQuest
Been eyeballing that. Wonder how reliable that setup is............
nightwalkerancestery
VERY reliable. I've been running the radiator without shroud and two 10" fans for 2 years and have never had a problem of running too hot even in 100* weather. Can only imagine how much better it'll be with the shroud. - Charles
tankbob
Worth buying just the fans/shroud to upgrade from stock? I already have the *DM radiator
importwarrior
I have read that the shroud prevents flow through the rad when fans are not runningCausing the engine to run hotter then normal. But cools quick when fans are on.They stated it was better without the shroud when cruising. Now that is based our cars.

mechengrkj
I bought this last week and went to install it without success. With the shroud and fans in place, the primary fan hits the water pump pulley. I'd say don't waste your money buying the shroud because you won't be able to use it anyways. JohnnyWadd
I have read that the shroud prevents flow through the rad when fans are not runningCausing the engine to run hotter then normal. But cools quick when fans are on.They stated it was better without the shroud when cruising. Now that is based our cars. That shroud sucks. It only helps because it doesn't compromise the core like you can with the zip tie mounts. If you use foam tape between the fan and the fin contact it will work a lot better than having the shroud. You get 100 percent of the fans CFM moving air through the fins, AND your ambient air flow is not blocked. Those shrouds that you see on most OEM applications have little one way vents and holes and are spaced farther out from the core than those shrouds on the ebay kits. They are more like airdams than shrouds. I bet motocam360 could make a set for use to use like thishttp://smg.photobuck...kets_8.jpg.html I used the zip ties before and never had an issuehttp://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z388/starionkiller/rocky%20electric%20fan%20and%20intake/th_20150304_182243.jpg http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z388/starionkiller/rocky%20electric%20fan%20and%20intake/th_20150304_183126.jpg http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z388/starionkiller/griffin%20radiator/th_2013-06-14212410.jpg I bought this last week and went to install it without success. The ebay auction shows $1399 right now! You could do two two Spal 16 inch fans and a relay kit for 1/10th that price. I am guessing they are out of stock and that's why they raise the price. At $349.00 its still a decent deal, toss the shroud and use both fans, just wire them into the stock relays. importwarrior
The only reason its so high is because they are outOr they are on back order. As soon as they get more made the price will go back to normal levels. They do this so they dont have to end the ad

O yeah? That's some good information since I too run the afore-mentioned radiator. I'd like to ditch the stock shroud for something in better shape. Edit: Just read the rest about the fitment of the shroud ... I have two 14" fans here that I planned to use a while back but stuck to the stock setup since it was easier at the time.So how would you mount 2 x 16" fans on there!? The 2 14s I have seemed that they were too big? Edited March 10, 2015 by psu_Crash
TexasQuest
Those fan mounting brackets look sweet! MotoCam definitely should make those!
importwarrior
could not fit 2 16 BUT a 12 and 16 fit.basically an example of what i did i just put 12 in upper left corner and the 16 in bottom right corner.tight but fit. mount the 16 first. importwarrior
after running with the shroud for a while in 95 DEG days...it seems like the radiator air flow is kind of reduced.on hot days it seems to run a little warm. with out theshroud i think the air flow when fans are off was better.less restriction. the only difference i see that is better is now that i usedwindow sealer foam strips to close any and all gaps in theshroud, when fans turn on the temps drop a lot faster onthe dash gauge. to me it is more noticeable. on regular days below 90 the gauge is rock solid and doesnot move. Still very happy.

importwarrior
Thats what i am thinking. i did use the foam strips on the sides of the radiator between the rad support and radiatorbut not across the top and bottom the gap is so small i dont believe it will be much help todo so. but the side gap is big. i just dont know if i want to stick radiator fan mounts through this radiator it is so nice!
