  1. Let me just clean it up a little I should have pics tonight. What should I use to clean it? My best guess is isopropyl (91%). Im cleaning this thing in my living room...
  2. Sorry substock someone else got it first, its sold.
  3. I bought this but never installed it and since sold the car. These normally cost $20 shipped on eBay. Ill sell this one for $10 shipped. Payment preferred is PayPal. -Chris P
  4. I have a stock steering column for sale. It was removed from my car when I converted to manual steering. As far as I know it is working properly, except for the steering coupler. Im about to throw this out, I dont think its worth a whole lot. Just seeing who might want it because I hate throwing stuff away that might be useful to someone. Im located in Newport News Virginia, 23606. -Chris P
  5. I have for sale a lightened 240mm flywheel. I brought it to a machine shop and had it lightened, resurfaced, and balanced. They lightened it down to 22lbs. Total cost to me was about $165 labor for the work, and the flywheel itself I paid $50 for, so total I have $215 invested in this. Due to a misunderstanding with my mechanic, this never got installed into my car. So, Ive just been holding onto this for about 3+ years. In that time, its gotten a lot of surface rust on the side towards the clutch. So it will definitely need to be resurfaced again. As for price, I'll start by asking $100 plus shipping, or free pickup in Newport News Virginia (23606). Since this conveniently fits into a USPS Flat Rate Box, shipping can potentially be pretty cheap. Thanks for looking and please feel free to ask any questions or make an offer. Payment preferred thru PayPal but I will also accept cash or money orders. -Chris P
  6. I worked for Precision Camera for 2.5 years and have worked for one of the manufactures for the past 2, repairing cameras. Often times corrosion will cause a camera to become BER, but not always.
  7. I would part it out, but I live at an apartment. Dont know if Id be allowed to have a disassembled parts car.
  8. To list off a few more problems, the parking brake doesnt work due to bad cables. The drivers side seat belt grinds constantly (off track?). Wearing it under my armpit usually fixes it but over the years I dont even notice it any more. When I got pulled over for no inspection earlier today the officer told me my center brake light was out. I told him I only knew about the right tail light lol. Rear wiper doesnt work (also off track?). Antenna has been physically broken off. Comes with a CD player though w/ aux in on the front. And I think 1 speaker is blown. Front tires are Toyo 225/50R16 that are pretty low on tread (bought used). Rear tires are Yokohama 245/45R16 that are really great with lots of tread, but one was plugged from a nail hole. Heater works 50% of the time you want it to. Occasionally, the head lights dont try to come down. But when theyre down they ALWAYS will pop up. I trust this car more than the $3100 Suzuki Samurai I bought. But at least the Samurai doesnt have any rust. -Chris P
  9. I got it for $700 and then put about $2500 into it. I have receipts. Yes in Connecticut Yes. I have an offer for $500 on Sunday as a parts car. If you can offer me considerably more than that PM/call/text me, and I will look into getting the duplicate title. Personally, Id take all the good parts (including motor and tranny) and put them into a roller. Or sell off the parts individually. -Chris
  10. Yup, and throw a turbo on it and its borderline irresponsible. Wow, so that really solves quite a bit of work. Sounds like engine mounts and tranny mounts is all I need! prly not so simple... Bill, can you point me in the direction of that 4G63 Samurai?
  11. I just bought a Suzuki Samurai that is in almost perfect condition. Not so sure the 1.3L motor is going to keep me exactly happy. Anyone think a G54B would be an easy swap? I could even start out with a carb and no turbo. Even if its only like 110hp, its still a hell of a lot more than the 65hp it has now. I was thinking maybe a Montero transfer case and transmission could make this happen. Then all I have to worry about is lining everything up and mounting, I think. Well, prly would have some clearance issues I guess. Thoughts? -Chris P
  12. I did leave out a few new parts. Water pump is new. Has I believe new upper and lower radiator hoses. Has new coolant line to turbo. Rarely goes above half way on the temp gauge. Oil pressure is usually a little over half to 2/3 while driving, 1/4 to 1/3 at idle. In the past 3 years I have owned it, oil has been changed about every 2500 miles, except last time I went to about 4000. When I first bought the car, I did a compression test, it was about 115psi straight across with seriously like no oil. With oil its probably better and at least consistent. I had the rear differential fluid changed as well, with LSD additive. For some more bad, the steering has some play in it. The coupler is new, but I think maybe it has worn out due to the manual conversion combined with 225 tires up front. Or maybe its some other reason I dont know. -Chris P
  13. Oh and sorry but I do not have the title. I lost it. I could probably get a new one mailed to me. But I am considering this more of a parts car. You dont need the title to register in virginia anyway. But this thing will never pass inspection with all the rust. I just deal with getting pulled over every couple months lol. The tickets are cheap but taking a day off work to go to court is what kills me. -Chris P
  14. When my camera charges, ill be sure to include a pic showing the 3" exhaust. These pics so far are all about a year or 2 old.
