Thinking about a headlight harness for my car.

might not make a difference but it seems like a good idea.

uses power from battery directly to the lights.

Heavy Duty Headlight Conversion Harness w/Relays

NOTE: Our headlight harness includes a pre-installed diode that allows the high and low beams to emit light at the same time when the brights are turned on. Should you need to disable this feature, simply remove the diode from the wiring harness.

Any electrical upgrade to these old monsters is a good idea. I've thought of doing something similar for years... it never happens lol

its only 29 dollars just need to verify the
positive high low and negative are the same
as the cars harness wiring.

I used it on my 79 F150 and it was a huge difference on that.

Wont make a difference on a SQ.  SQ headlight relay gets power directly from the battery through fuse link #4.  That wiring harness only helps on cars that have the headlight circuit run through the ignition switch.

I'd just like to replace the questionable old wiring

That harness is wired to switch the + and have a common ground at the headlights.  SQ headlights and many other Japanese cars switch the ground.  Common positive and switched grounds.

I went through this on my Toyota.  Same setup as the SQ.  OEM is switched grounds and direct battery +.  I wanted to try it but everyone online said the relay kit made little to no difference.  Conversely people with Jeeps love this kit because their headlights run through the ignition switch.

I'm all about hardwiring. It's always overboard but works

i used one similar to this with glass H4 housings and 55w bulbs, works great, because, you bypass the old wiring AND if you wanted to bump up the bulb wattage go for it cuz the twin relays can handle it ;)
