  1. Yea, the motor was just a complete obscenity for someone who had way too much money to drop in their show car. Sure looked pretty, though. I think I price shopped it once and found it available for 36k on the internet somewhere... Which isn't much better. The motor I'd really like to see someone put in one of these cars and race is the Radical RPC 3.2 v8. I looked into it with Radical and it was just way too much money to put a straight up race motor in a street car. Easily my favorite v8 though.
  2. Well, if budget is not a concern... Mopar makes (or at least used to make) a 100% polished aluminum supercharged 500ci Hemi. Literally everything. Block, heads, supercharger, etc. Good for a claimed 900hp, and drop in ready. When I used to be able to get them, they sold for around $60,000. That was about 4 years ago. Be an interesting swap as well. I mean, we all have 60k to drop a motor in a 25 year old car thats worth about 5k, right? XD
  3. A twin turbo 1uz would be interesting. But it really depends on your budget
  4. Sound quality. I put a LOT of time into making sure all of my audio files are really high quality, and it would be a waste to play them on crappy speakers. If you mean the head unit, well... I have ~ 11,000 songs on my computer, and counting. I put all that effort into getting that music, I want to be able to play it. But until someone makes a head unit that either syncs to my computer or will accept storage media that will hold all that music... I'm going to need a way to plug my phone into the stereo. Granted, not everyone really cares that much, and if you don't, it's a waste of money. But hey, to each their own.
  5. Facebook seems to have decided its a janitorial service - Trilogy has nothing to to do with that page. No idea why it decided that though, lol
  6. For some reason, I feel like I need that car in my life XD
  7. I just had a thought! Some of the old Datsun wagons can be had for the price you're looking for. They'll be ugly and rusty, but hard to beat for ease of maintenance. Also, cool factor. Really just a side option though, but I thought I would throw it out there.
  8. S10 Blazers are very much like XJ Cherokees. The main difference is that while on the Cherokee, your rear main will always leak, on the S10, Your ball joints will go out on a regular basis. With Moog BJ's and regular greasings, you should be able to get 4-5 years out of a set. Other than that though, no major issues, just stay on top of maintenance. My experience is that the pretty much the same with both trucks. I would personally sooner buy the XJ, but I think the S10 Blazer might be a better choice for your mom.
  9. I'd suggest a late model Jeep Cherokee (99-01) if you can find one that doesn't have a billion miles on it for the price you want. S10 Blazer would also work. Alternately, an Accord wagon/ Camry Wagon would work, although they'd be less capable in snow. If her loads are small enough, you could go with a civic hatch probably.
  10. They look different than the ones I used to have, as well. But for what it's worth, my old brackets were all bonded to the glass with a rubberized adhesive. Miserable stuff to take off, too.
  11. One of my friends out here is always on me to do a full evo drivetrain swap in my quest. He's a lawyer, so to him, money no object. I keep telling him I can't afford it, maybe I should see if he'll "sponsor" the swap...
  12. What about crowdfunding it? Throw it up on kickstarter. It sounds like you don't have the cash to throw down for the mold and then recoup through sales like a typical GB, but if you crowdfund it and post the link to the SQ facebook page, you might get enough to do it. Especially if you offer a backer reward of actually getting a finished product if they donate enough. Plus you could do a stretch goal of the cowl hoods, kill 2 birds with one stone.
  13. I agree. Going to be jealous once you have that painted
  14. Niko, you're awesome, lol. If you're still distributing when I'm ready for my D2's, you'll have my business for sure.
