  1. @EvoAmy As others have said, you have an excellent and desirable car. If it’s accepted by BaT (highly likely), you should get a professional photographer, which they can provide for a very reasonable fee. Along with a nice detail before, I think pro photos are how you’ll realize a maximum sale price. I’ve been on BaT before they even had auctions and so many great cars don’t get their due because of poor quality photos. Best of luck with the sale!
  2. Factory SHP tire sizes were: 225/50/16 front 245/45/16 rear Those were some pretty wide rear tires for 1988/1989
  3. Totally agree. There are so few resources for StarQuest owners today, I’m glad this forum exists but it’s time to move on from that event and encourage new members.
  4. Pretty rare to see one in this color, overall it appears to be in good condition with a long term, 17-year ownership history with the seller (still has the window sticker, owner’s manual, dealer brochure, etc). I think the flat black painted wheels do it a disservice, but that’s an easy fix. There are some other flaws, but this one should do pretty well and there won’t be any complaints about it being an automatic like the last few listed on BaT. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1987-chrysler-conquest-3/
  5. Hey guys, my factory stereo functions just fine, except for the tape deck, which doesn’t work, like most of them at this point. From reading old threads, it seems like this is usually caused by a rubber belt drying out and breaking after 30+ years. Even though it might be an easy fix if you know what you’re doing, I don’t trust myself to disassemble electronics. Does anyone know if this belt is still available? Or of a company/individual that has repaired their tape deck in the past? Thanks!
  6. Just thought I’d post a couple pictures of my ‘87 Starion from a local Cars and Coffee the other weekend. This C&C (Great Falls, VA) brings out some awesome cars, this time there was a F40 and a 190E Evo II, both of which were really cool to see in the wild. Every time I take the Starion out, I’m amazed at how much attention it gets, especially in that kind of company. At one point there was a bright green Aventador parked next to me and my brother and I watched as multiple people walked by taking pictures of the Starion, ignoring the Lambo. It’s fun to see these cars get so much love from other enthusiasts
  7. Looks like this will be an excellent example for someone, should be fun to watch https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1987-chrysler-conquest-tsi-17/
  8. Does anyone have an OEM key blank they’d be willing to sell? (I’ve seen them offered here in the past but that was ages ago). I currently have a generic ILCO key but would prefer to get an OEM blank that says “Mitsubishi” on it to match my OEM key fob, if possible. Thanks!
  9. Same here, I’d be happy with some quality repros, seeing as how nice OEM ones might take years to find. I reached out to NikoFab awhile ago on the off chance he still had some laying around, but never heard back. Guess I was about a decade late on that group buy haha
  10. Hey guys, just bumping my original post above looking for a nice set of maroon Starion floor mats – unsurprisingly, I haven’t found any available. I figure if I bump this once a year, I might get lucky! I’m willing to pay for the right set and would happily take just the fronts.
  11. Steve has a very nice example for sale - https://starquestparts.net/products/oem-starion-conquest-83-hood
  12. Hey guys, my '87 Starion has hit a bit of a brick wall and I'm hoping someone on the forum might be able to shed some light. A local shop has been meticulously going through the car, replacing and servicing everything as needed with no real issues to date. However, just as things were wrapping up, it suddenly won’t start for no obvious reason. Here are some basics that I know: 1. The car will crank, but won't start 2. It has compression, fuel and spark (compression is great across all cylinders, it was just re-tested) 3. The following items that might be associated with this problem have already been replaced: - Spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor - Injector clips - Ignition coil - Alternator 4. The fuel injectors have been cleaned and serviced, fuel filter has been replaced 5. The leaking throttle body has also been serviced, the gaskets replaced, etc. 6. A complete new timing kit was also installed. The firing order is correct, there seem to be no issues here either 7. The battery is good Any help or ideas would really be appreciated!
  13. Hey guys, I had posted awhile back on the old forum looking for a 1987 Starion owner’s manual in good condition. It would be another one of those nice finishing touches for my car. If anyone has one they’re willing to part with, let me know.
  14. Hey guys, I had posted awhile back on the old forum looking for a nice set of maroon/burgundy Starion floor mats for a manual transmission car. I know it’s a real long shot, but I figured I’d post it again just in case I get lucky or someone comes across this in the future. I think they’d be the perfect finishing touch to my mint ‘87 Starion. I’m willing to pay good money for the right set.
