1988 Mitsubishi Starion ESiR ( I'm the 2nd owner )

~38k on the odometer. She's always been garaged, and under my ownership I've put around 3k on her, replaced the original slave cylinder and the original thermostat.

Car has a Stedebani short throw shifter, and stock sized Centerline XL500s are wheels on Cooper RS3 tires ( less than 3k miles on them. I'll have to look at them to get their sizes ).

Sony double-din stereo + backup camera that engages when you go reverse, all speakers are replaced with Alpines, and there's a 10" sub enclosure included ( its small, I removed it since it wasn't mounted down to prevent it from sliding around ). RFL bov, beyond that the entire car is stock, as in dealership new. The leather seats are still soft and supple ;) Has an '83 hood, oem widebody mudflaps and oem upper hatch spoiler. New Tokico Blue struts will be included ( the original struts are slowly leaking ). Also have eibach springs, 3" exhaust and an HKS F-Con w/GCC that could be negotiated in. Only issue I can find is the front fender lips were tweaks outwards from the tires scrubbing when taking cambered corners. Not hard to roll back in ( and probably better to just roll them completely since I've seen some on stock wheels/tires do the exact same )

Added an interior and engine bay photo

Yeah importwarrior, I know :( If I don't sell her, I'll find a way. I'm also fixing a few minor things with my 08 Miata GT and selling her as well ( the idea depresses me, I have far too much fun with that car ).

Whoa....15k?! GLWS.... A 1989 Starion might get you 15k. Or are our cars really just commanding these prices today? Does this mean my 1985 1/2 Flatty with 65,000 easy miles is worth about 15k or more? If I could get 20k I'd sell it tomorrow, as I have my eye on a 1970 Firebird Formula 455 with Ram Air and Foose Rims from hell.

Cheers,

SLim Jim

From what I've come to assess and analize in the last 20 years, flatties have never sold for more money compared to the fatty style. This car is a fine "extremely low miles example" of a starquest. I wish it still had the original wheels.

Only 568 or so 85 1/2 Dodge Conquests were made with an intercooler. The flattys are lighter and very rare. Most SQC'ers especially the ones who had owned both styles would many of the probably would respectfully disagree with you. A stock fatty will handle better as I have owned and still own one of each. My flatty has always been much quicker off the line 0-90 mph. This is a nice car and a fine example. Fanta is a great guy! But the bottom line is it's worth what some one will pay.....Production numbers will in fact have some weight to some Questers decisions in some cases. It did for me.

Flattys before fattys....I do not need the extra weight.

Cheers,

Jim

Honestly? I could see 15k for that car. Not because it's super collectible, but because of the condition and miles. There's not many of these in that condition and the market for these cars is really depressed, especially considering what an Evo goes for. I'd willing pay 15k for a well sorted, clean example, with tasteful, well done mods.

I'd do exactly what OP is doing. Ask for a huge price for the car to justify to myself that I'm trying to sell it. If no one buys it from me I keep the car knowing I tried.... If someone pony's up the cash I'd sell it, and use the $15k as a down payment for a MKIV supra LOL.
