flattiefan Posted August 30, 2011 Report Share Posted August 30, 2011 HI, I bought some kyb struts off of ebay last year for my 87 flattie and just got around to putting them on and they turned out to be for a wide body. the car is torn apart and I will need to have it back together by saturday and dont want to just put the old ones back in. is there anyway to put new seals in the old ones so I dont have to take it apart twice? thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
JohnnyWadd Posted August 30, 2011 Report Share Posted August 30, 2011 If the old ones are stock shp's they can be "rebuilt"Depending on what you bought the part will work fine on either widebody or flatbody, the front "inserts" are a different length but will still work. The whole front strut assemblies are different as the spinlde angle from wide to narrow. The rears will bolt right up.I wonder what seals you mean? flattiefan Posted August 31, 2011 Author Report Share Posted August 31, 2011 I wonder what seals I mean too. lol I heard someone say the struts could have new seals put in them I just assumed all of them were rebuildable. the ones im changing are the front. how do you get the front inserts from a wide body to fit a narrow body?
