  1. I'm selling my 1988 Mitsubishi Starion SHP. It has the original white exterior paint with the rare tan/black interior. The car runs well, it's my daily car but many cars and projects forces me to sell it. For it's age this is a clean and running1988 Mitsubishi Starion SHP, so please only serious buyers. I will include the 3" exhaust and down pipe to the person who buy's the car. VIN: JA3CC54N7JZ014643 Odometer Miles: approx. 130k The good: G54B Engine is stock Stock 12a turbo Polished Valve Cover Clean CA Title in hand. Passed Smog and registered until APR 2013 exterior Color: White Interior Color: Tan/Black 5spd Transmission Electric Sun/Moon roof Rear Hatch Window Wing Front/Rear Cross Drilled Brake Rotors Hard Pipes HKS Bypass Valve Open Air Box New Water Pump Front are 8" SHP wheels (polished) Rear are 9" SHP wheels (polished) Grant Steering Wheel 1G CD w/stereo KYB front/rear struts/shocks Front Strut Tower Brace Installed a fixed roof mount antenna 3 lead O2 sensor New Catalytic Converter Tires have plenty of threads left Clear head lights Stock springs K&N Air Filter The bad: No A/C Front Recaro seats shows it's age. 2. Yup...SoCal from Granada Hills. Nexen is ok to me...245/45/16 is kinda hard to find now a days.
  3. Yes, Nexen still makes 245/45/16 tire size but that tire size may not fit the front 8"non SHP. But that's the recommended tire size for the rear 9"SHP.
  4. Robert...yes i notice it , hard not to notice even in gold, I really like how aggressive it looks and it should corner better. Thanks for showing the 3 different tire setup on the 8"non SHP! it tells me I was in the right ball park with tire size. Do you like the 205/50 on the 8"non SHP up front? And does it rub? It looks like your Starion is dropped and rolled the fender. My plan is to install my polished 8"non SHP up front with 205/50 or 205/45 at stock height and not rolled.
  5. Allen and D_Venable...I'm talking about my '88 wide body Starion w/SHP factory package, 9"SHP Rear and 8"SHP Front. I want to change the front to 8"non SHP because I like the double lip look(more bling). One guy in San Diego had it on his '87 Starion and it had an aggressive look that I like, but he said it was scraping a little bit when he turned hard. I believe he was using 225/50/16 with the 8" non SHP up front. I like the stretch look so I'll try using 205/45/16 or 205/50/16 with the 8" non SHP up front on stock height and fender not rolled.
  6. Robert...your sig. photo looks like your using 8" non shp up front...correct?
  7. Will it stick out the fender or flush or still inside the fender? What's the best tire size below will clear and not scrap the fender? 195/50/16? 205/50/16? 205/45/16? 205/40/16? 215/45/16? 225/45/16? Thanks!
  8. I have an '87 complete parts car, let me know what you need and I'll let you know if I have it and the price. I'm in Granada Hills.
  9. I understand what leesfer is saying becaue I live in SoCal...it works for leesfer than great!...that's one way and the other way is ucw458, the more the way the better, that's how I see it. As for me I prefer to drive my Starion more than 1500-2500 miles per year. So for now I'll keep it stock and just keep doing the smog route. That's all.
  10. Yes, Happy Easter(Resurrection Remembrance Day)! The most important day to Christians because Yeshua(aka Jesus) defeated death by laying down his life so we can be reconciled to God. He is the first resurrection. Thank God Almighty!!! If Jesus Christ(Christ mean Messiah) did not rise from the dead (which Jesus did rise from the dead, AMEN!!!), us who have a relationship with Jesus would still be headed to hell, just like those who does not believe.
  11. Speaking from experience, TEP rebuilt my starion engine and they didn't do a good job. The engine kept smoking and once he's got your money you can forget getting service. Basically you're guilty until proven guilty or until you leave and never come back. That guy Steve sends the engine to his machine shop and someone else assembles the engine parts. The one thing I noticed about the G54B short block is it is solid. What I mean is it doesn't require rebuilding, I know because I rebuilt it myself and saw first hand the internals. People who don't know to much about this engine just rebuild the engine because it's got over 100k miles but typically if it's smoking it's because of bad valve stem seals or turbo rings are bad or blown head gasket. So I don't recommend Tep to rebuild your engine. If you can't do it yourself than send it to DAD instead.
  12. I'm open to selling you just the white 88' SHP if you are serious. Like I said I want a good home for my 88'. Give me a call (818) 921-5875. Gerry
  13. Hi StarQuester's, I’m selling my 1988 Starion SHP (daily car) along with my 1987 Starion parts car. The 88’ is in very good condition for it’s age, I drive it to and from work every day about 44 miles round trip and runs very good with no mechanical or electrical issues. The 87’ parts car has a rebuilt short block motor which I rebuilt myself and it ran very good until an uninsurred motorist hit the car and totalled it. The cylinder head is also good with no known problem and the 5spd manual transmission is very good and it has the ACT heavy duty clutch. I have owned a starion since the late 90’s and I have learned to troubleshoot, fix, and rebuild the Starion myself since it’s hard to find a mechanic for these cars. I’m selling both cars really cheap because I want the 88’ Starion to go to a good home who will hopefully take care of it. The parts car alone can make a pretty good return if he or she decides to sell it but I kept the parts car to support the 88’. I will not part out the 88’ and prefer to sell both cars to one person. I'm selling because I have another car that will require my attention and I can't support both. I’m selling both cars (88’ + 87’ parts car) in as is condition for $4700 obo. If really interested you can post here or email at "gelopez3@gmail.com". The 2 photos is my 88'. There are just to many extra parts to mention which I've accumulated for the past 12 years will all go "basically clean house". My loss is your gain.
