I live in Knoxville TN and I traded a 2003 Suzuki Bandit 1200s for a 1987 Mistubishi Starion I dont know if I did good or not but this car runs good and I have 1800$ in it. I am learning alot from this site and appreciate the info on the rare breed of car {it is the reason I didnt trade it off } Ive never been into racing or turbos but this is a fun little car to drive it has a bigger turbo, ac and ect where removed it has a 1989 Manual Tranny with a stage 2 clutch. The tires are huge for a 4 cylinder car but it will get sideways as you want it too. I guess what im getting at is this someones car from the area if so could you tell me who and what all has been done to it that I dont know so I am not buying ramdom parts I know its a shot in the dark but doesnt hurt to try. Thanks for any info you may have also thanks for this forum and the priceless info. BTW looks like im going to keep the thing it has 162000 but I would have to think it was rebuilt by someone as it has 140-145 psi compression across the board but any advice on getting this machine quicker I am willing to listen to the dyno sheet the person I got it from states 276 rwhp and 245 lb tourqe which isnt stock but I want 350+ out of it :)

Pictures and a little more information on the car (color, any rare bits, or aftermarket goodies that make it different from other SQs) will help some of the longer term members possibly tell you some history on the car. Did the person you got it from tell you about this site? If so, what's his name? There is a good chance if the car stands out from the crowd, someone around here will know who owned it, but if it is just another red 87 (most common year and color), then you may have a tougher time without a lot more specific details. Either way congrats on the new ride and welcome to the addiction. They are fun lil cars to drive.

Cheers,

It has the Valencia Gold color to it . There is no sunroof its a manual the odometer says 162000 someones done the ac/extras delete. There is a turbo kit from what looks like 14g turbo upgrade package from ebay, The transmission was done in knoxville in 2006 at Transmission world they changed it to a 89 tranny the order sheet has a stage 2 clutch put in, I can tell it used to have fins down the back windshield the brackets are on the top. The black is plasti dip and isnt supposed to be there I made it a two tone with the black still need to do some body work to the top to make the top color ut orange baby

Hello and welcome. I'm down the road in Maryville. Have an 86 and an 87. This is the best place to get info. A bunch of the guys are meeting in PF over the July 4th weekend. You can find all about that on the site under the Starquest Meet Planer section.

Best way to get over 300 is an MPI setup. Lots to read about those on here too. Learn to use the search on here. Saves you a lot of time and you can get the answers quicker than waiting for someone to respond. There are guys on here very willing to help but have seen the same questions asked too many times. A little self help goes a long way, then you get stumped, ask away...

Welcome

Dave
