Lunacy
Dam very nice - not so cool about the engine though. Although at least starting with a rebuilt engine will hopefully mean a few miles of happy driving If this was a manual itd be exactly what im looking to import early next year!!! 89PalermoSHP
Operation: Numero Dos. Since the first build took a deuce, try try again... New PS hose, cleaned down by the rails the best I could, more zinced brackets, everything that couldnt come out got cleaned as good as I could http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/OPn2-3.jpg Holes enlarged for the bigger pipes http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/Opn2-9.jpg All of the front cover bolts and anything visable replated with zinc. *Wrong water pump on there now... it made a good mask for spraying the timing cover. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/OPn2-1.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/ic-6.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/ic-2.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/ic-1.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/done-2.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/done-8.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/done-1.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/done-7.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/done-10.jpg Done! http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/done-12.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/DSC00001.jpg ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally almost done! 89PalermoSHP
Put together some braided oil cooler lines. If I did it over I would do crimped ends because the collar type connections were a real pain. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/ocl1.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/ocl2.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/ocl3.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/ocl4.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/ocl5.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/ocl6.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/ocl7.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/ocl8.jpg Edited March 20, 2011 by 89PalermoSHP

89PalermoSHP
It will be the last piece of the puzzle once the tranny is rebuilt. Its hindering the performance of the engine at the moment. I need to get some interior pics up.

Mazarin
Just paint it, that's what I did. Take a look - I went from this: http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/2470/dscf0018lp6uy3.jpg to this: http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t142/molotovmaz/HIN%20Nightshift/IMG_2485.jpg The only thing I replaced in the engine was the powder coated valve cover. Other than that, I pulled a bunch of pieces to paint(hood latch plate , firewall panels, coil bracket, even the ECU cover) masked everything else off(the oil feed line, radiator) and painted them black w/ high heat paint. I used gas grill paint on the Heat shields and that might have made an even bigger impact than painting the radiator. Paint that radiator and you'll have one of the top engine bays on this site. GORGEOUS. Oh, BTW: Note the local 2nd place trophy in the first pic and the 1st place HIN trophy in the corner of the 2nd pic. A little paint and some patience go a long way! 89PalermoSHP
Looking great Mazarin. Looks like your a few steps ahead of me. I wanted to replace the rad since almost everything else is new anyhow. The only thing that was originally on/in the engine is the alt, ps pump, ac pump and the crankshaft. The block, rods, pistons, main bolts, oil pump, head, cam, rockers, rocker shafts, springs, arp studs, water pump, exhaust mani, turbo, injectors, intake(redone by kelly), vac advance, exhaust, were all brand new(except the block I guess, but machined, original was cracked). I figured another $100 for a new rad to keep everything cool as possibly was reasonable. But back to your original point, it not only needs paint it has a few dents on the top of it as well :? macrophage
because they're just not fun ! people love shifting which is fun in my opinion, it saves gas too! Engines have a music to them that people love. Shifting thru the gears exploits the music even more especially when people are looking at you get busy.
