Hi,

My name is Colin, I live in Fort Edward NY. I'm originally from Saratoga Springs NY.

I recently purchased an '89 Conquest tsi from a guy down in Ballston Spa NY. It is a little rough around the edges, and needs its fair share of work. But, aside from the small things, it is in pretty good shape and it is an awsome car to drive. (As you all know)

I am new to the conquest/ starion breed, but I've owned similar cars including a Nissan Z31, Pontiac Fiero, and 87 I-roc.

I have to say, just in the short amount of time I've had it, I think that my new conquest might be my most favorite car to date.

I'm excited to get started on some forums, and begin the long process of modifying and fixing my TSI.

I have a few projects in mind, some small and some big, that I intend to share with you guys via the forums. I can't wait to get started.

I've attached some of the pictures from the original craigslist ad (hence, the low image quality), and a picture from when I brought it home.

Welcome from a fellow n00b, and one planning to own a Starion ASAP. I think you'll feel really welcome here. One of the absolutely most helpful vehicle specific forums I've ever been on.

Looks like you have a good base to start with. Any engine mods?

Welcome, I'm pretty new at this as well....and it's pretty cool indeed. The amount of information available here on these forums is amazing. I just successfully brought my Starion back to life, after buying it with a blown engine, and there is no way I would have been able to do it without the help of everyone here and their willingness to share their knowledge.

Good Luck - from a fellow New Yorker ;)

For a second I thought you an 83 hood on that thing, but I guess it's just a bolt-on thing. I like the black. Good purchase, 89's a good year to have.

EDIT:

BTW, if that really is an 89 a P/O swapped in 87 seats, just so you're aware.

Welcome from another newbie. I also plan to own a Starion very soon but they're impossible to find in SoCal. Can't wait to see what you do with your car! Everybody here is really cool and helpful from what I've seen so you'll be fine.
