Hey guys,

I know I'm new here so I'm hoping I can do this without backlash due to not yet building a reputation here. I have seen where someone attempted to make these a few years ago and that fell through. I have contacted importwarrior since he had received a few samples to get his feedback.

I have modeled the latch myself and tested it on my own car and it works perfectly. I'm looking at having these professionally printed out of a material that is rated up to 345F so warping from summer heat should not be an issue.

I'd like to gauge interest to see how many are wanting these. I have ordered test parts from two companies and price will likely be $25-35 depending on which company sends me the best quality print.

Here is the part I printed myself to check my dimensions and fitment. This was printed on my own printer to check my dimensions and make sure the fit and function is correct.

I'd be in for sure. Great part. What software did you use to draw it?

yup count me in please!!!

My prototype that I received to test years a go warped due
to one good summer day of sunshinning in my front window. it
warped like a horseshoe where you press it to open the lid.

I believe the material used in this batch that NotaDeLorean
is making will be far better than the prototype I have. the
temp rating is a lot lower on my current latch.

Thanks, importwarrior. I'll get you added to the list. And to what you're saying about the temp resistance and warping, I believe the latch you received was made of a plastic rated to about 170F at most while the material these are made with is good to 350F. The issues you told me about with yours led me to getting these professionally made so both the finish and temp resistance will be far better than I can make at home. I'll have close up pictures as well as pictures of it installed by next weekend when I receive my test batch.

I'm hoping I can bring the price down more but I need more people interested to do so. Be sure to tell all your friends about this so no one misses out. Either way I will be providing these as its a part I initially made for myself and then discovered there may be interest.

My samples should be here tomorrow so I'll be able to test fit and take pictures. If everything works out I'll be looking to progress this and start taking payments to order these. I believe I can get these down to $20-25 shipped if I can get 20+.
