Hello again all,

As mentioned on a previous post a few days ago,

http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=148096

I've been re-doing all the vac lines in my starquest to be both be closer to the stock (minus the BOV) as well as they all needed to be replaced anyways. But ive bit a bit of a snag. I cant seem to find where the Purge Control Valve and the secondary air cleaner pictured in the diagram are? I didnt want to tear my car apart before asking here. Thanks a bunch guys!

It's a smog device that gets deleted on most SQs. If you don't have a factory pre cat then you probably don't have the secondary air system.

The large black box to the right of the valve cover is the control valve. It is operated by a solenoid attached to the front of the TB. The black box has a pipe that goes around the engine and screws into the stock pre cat.

I see. Then I think I don't have those then. I have no black box by my valve cover. I do have two old lines that lead from under the air box and filter to the rest of the vac lines by the throttle body which u assume lead to some solenoids located there? They don't seem to be shown in the diagram Edited by Keoni1113

The box under the air filter is the charcoal canister. It prevents gas fumes from escaping the tank. The vac lines normally go to a 3 port solenoid by the TB. The pointy one after the TB and the other before the TB.

Good reading with pics

haha i actually just found this thread. What i did before when re-doing the line was connect the lines leading from below the air can and hooked them up as if they went to the purge control valve. As for the the charcoal can i didn't see one when i replaced my air can and MAS. I'll have to look again, i wasn't paying attention to the lines when i was in their last.

Could you post a pic of that solenoid? The only ones I know of that fit that description is the EGR solenoids that sit on the throttle body
